same question! seems like a glitch/mistake. I guess I could upload my unofficial transcript to show enrollment?cyrilfiggis wrote:Under Question 7.2 it asks "are you currently enrolled at a law school?" and then it has you attach an addendum if you respond "yes". What is this about?

You need 28 to be eligible to transfer.GT2016JN wrote:Do you think this applies to Part Time students with 24 credits?Nebby wrote:Top 1% if at TTTthp25 wrote:Does anyone know what the typical gpa/clank rank necessary to have a good shot at being accepted is? Wait, am I reading the information on their website incorrectly? It says they will accept an application with less than 28 credits provided their is an addendum with explanation.Nebby wrote:You need 28 to be eligible to transfer.GT2016JN wrote:Do you think this applies to Part Time students with 24 credits?Nebby wrote:Top 1% if at TTTthp25 wrote:Does anyone know what the typical gpa/clank rank necessary to have a good shot at being accepted is? Do you have any thoughts on this or likelihood of acceptance. I'm at a T2 (55-65) in the region. They took 1 person from my school last year, but I am going to assume this person was full time.
"*Please note that we are able to consider applicants with fewer than 28 credits and more than 32 credits; applicants to whom this applies must include a written explanation with their application for admission. After you have transferred, a review with the Director of Academic Counseling will determine how many credits will be eligible toward your Columbia Law School J.D. degree."

No one was from a part time program this year. I can't help you there.
How many credits do you earn per year? You may be better off sitting out this cycle and reapplying when you have more credits.
What is your class rank?

My rank is 1/53.
Any chance at Columbia as a PT transfer?

How did the transfers in your class fare at OCI? How was your transfer experience overall? (in terms of academics, social scene, etc.)trbrny wrote:CLS transfer from a few years ago, happy to answer questions.

Re: Columbia Transfer 2015
For the most part transfers did quite well at OCI although I can think of a few who really struggled. What I found hardest was not really knowing any 'inside' information about firms. Meaning, it seemed to me that people who were 1Ls in Columbia had been exposed to much more of a big firm culture and knew much more about where they wanted to interview/work and that helped them get jobs. I came from a school where nobody ever really even thought about big firms and I was completely clueless, that hurt me a bit when bidding on firms and during my screeners. At the end of the day, it worked out for me, but I struggled.jphiggo wrote:How did the transfers in your class fare at OCI? How was your transfer experience overall? In terms of academics and social scene, it took me a full semester to really settle in and get my groove, but at the end I came out with a very close core group of friends so I'm not complaining. My one pointer about this is that I struggled at first to know who the good/must take professors and classes were, so to the extent you can pick someone's brain who is already there, I would do so.

Re: Columbia Transfer 2015
Question: can we submit our application first without having our 2nd semester grade?
My finals ended about a week ago, I don't think ill receive my grades and class rank until mid/late June.

Yes I am a 0L and I get your point. You have to crawl before you walk. That's basically what you are saying.

To anyone in the know: when is the latest you would recommend throwing in an app? Won't be getting grades back until closer to the end of June, and kind of want to base whether I apply on the results. Thanks.
