Yeah, I'm debating whether to apply. Top 10% at mid T2 with no Philly ties. Did you guys write the optional essay?

T1 top 10% - had a Skype interview today. They said they would make a decision on me in a week.

Well at least it will be easy to avoid you if you manage to blackmail your way into the school.

Got a request for a skype interview next, does anyone know what this means? Think my file is under committee review already

Looks like someone in the thread last year had an interview and was accepted the next day. Looks like a good thing. Might be just a smell test and will probably admit you or could be that you are on the cusp? GL

Do you think it matters that I am doing the interview on skype instead of going to Penn? I live an hour away from the school. Would it be more beneficial to go in person to interview?

No.

Care to elaborate? Seems like interviews in person seem more personal and less awkward than a skype interview. Plus shows the school that i took time to see the school

Transferring is all about your stats. (Which are?)

They do Skype interviews because it's more convenient for them.

Yes transferring is mostly stats but obviously they are evaluating the interview and other factors. Going in person may show that I am very serious about attending the school and it is important to me to go see Penn and meet face to face with the admissions dean.

You can pm me for stats idk why you need them if you're not applying here.

The skype interview is usually just a final confirmation that you are not an axe murderer or neo-Nazi. Unless you are atrocious on the phone I wouldn't act desperate by insisting on an in-person appearance for what might essentially be an admission formality. Unless you haven't visited the school yet.

Haven't seen the school yet and live pretty close. Just want to do everything I possibly could to help my chances of admission.

Because I was going to say, if you're T1/Top 5%, then you'd literally have to take a dump while being interviewed to not be accepted.

All of what you've said can be 100% equally accomplished via the Skype interview. Go ahead and call them and request a cancellation of your Skype interview, and insist on a face-to-face one. I'm sure they'll enjoy having to rearrange their schedules.

I have faith you’ll be accepted if you’re either T1/Top 10% or T2/Top 5%.

I don't think Neb's point was nasty... it seems true. Meeting in person will have no effect on whether you will be accepted, but making them change their entire schedule could
