You should be aiming higher (this is coming from a UM transfer). Is the issue that most other T10s don't take PTers?

That seems to be what the anecdotal evidence says. I mean Penn, UVA, H+Y, NYU don't seem friendly at all. The other one's I've applied to (save for Chi and Berkeley)

Why do you say they don't seem friendly? If they don't bar them completely, then it's worth an app.

I think you are competitive at any T10 save Y and maybe S, I would at least apply to Penn and NYU for sure.

Sorry, I misspoke. Penn and NYU are the two that are explicitly minimum of 28. Berkeley seems to push that way too but I don't know if Cali is for me (though I did apply to Stanford)

Not I. But I did ask for expedited review - they emailed me in response saying I am under review

Good luck all. I looked back at my app from a few years ago and I sent my LSAC materials to Michigan on 6/28 and was accepted on 7/12. So a pretty quick turnaround. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear. I ask for expedited review as well, but they do not have my class rank. Did you send your in to complete your file, or not?

I only sent in first semester class rank. My school has not released cumulative class rank yet.

However, I did send an email to Mark and told him about my situation (and the fact I booked 3 out of 4 classes this second semester), so it is likely my rank increased even more. (I was top 2% first semester)

I guess Michigan was not for me - but good luck to everyone else in the runnings ... I was officially the first rejected lol

I just got in today! I had to call to confirm it wasn't a prank, as one of my friends that I told has done similar stunts in the past. But they said today wasn't April Fools. I have to be the only clown that had to confirm the acceptance wasn't a prank.

Congrats! Do you have stats/when you went complete?

Sure. Went complete 6/11. Asked for expedited review yesterday 6/18. In the request I respectfully asked for a decision by 7/1, as I needed to know by that date if I was leaving to avoid a massive fine by my landlord. I will PM stats. Michigan was the only school I applied to and I will be attending.

Thanks. Best of luck to you! Transfer admissions are random: I'm sure you will get some good news soon.

Haha I love that the link to order season football tickets is in the same email as the write on competition. That week will suck though leaving work to go straight to the library. I wonder if everyone is doing it in July or just the transfers?

I just combined the Why Mich question with the personal statement and submitted a 4 page essay. I thought it would be awkward to separate the 2 essays.

My class rank was finally released and I had it faxed to UMich. Hoping I'll have a yes or next sometime next week, which sucks considering I have a deposit due Monday elsewhere for 1.2K.

Accepted this afternoon via email - 3.8 (Top 5%) at a Midwest T2

Submitted my application on 06/15, complete 06/23 - didn't submit the optional essay but addressed why I wanted to be at Michigan in my personal statement

Good luck everyone! Looks like decisions are released right after your application is complete.
