Hey, care to tell us what your status is under the status checker? Just curious if it changed. Thanks! And congrats :)

Did you have a deadline you let SLS know about?

Thank you! Status is still " Your file has been submitted for review." They said they would send a packet via FedEx tomorrow morning, so I will let you know if it changes then.

No, but Dean Deal, who was incredibly nice, did note that they were FedExing my admission packet because they thought I might have other deadlines to consider. Perhaps if I was as much of a "lock" as some have said (I didn't really view it that way) they wanted to give me the option before the Harvard deadline, but I only applied to Stanford and noted that in my application.

So for the rest of the mortals on here, should we assume that the rest of the calls also went out?

Possibly. I see least three ways to look at this:

1. ccm2123 is just trolling us. I don't believe this myself, for two reasons: (1) What motive would ccm2123 have to troll us in this way? (2) If ccm2123 is trolling us, s/he is doing an amazing job at it. Lol.

2. All of their acceptances went out today. There are several problems with this conclusion: (1) beebee19 called today and asked when decisions might be released. The lady on the phone said there was no way of knowing when the acceptances would be released and to call back on Monday or Tuesday. Why would she say that if she knew all of the decisions were likely going to be made today? (2) Issuing all the decisions today, this early in the cycle, is highly unlike Stanford, historically speaking. (3) If all of the acceptances went out today, why have we only heard from one person today on this board? Out of 10 or so acceptances, I would think we would hear back from at least 2 or 3 people on this board.

3. SLS issued at least one, but not all, of its decisions today and will be issuing the remaining decisions within the next few days/weeks. Personally, I think this is the most likely explanation. One problem with this interpretation is that it doesn't line up with SLS's past history of issuing all of their acceptances "by phone call in one day, estimated mid to late July," as reported by Valera. Still, this interpretation seems more plausible to me than the other two.

Randomstudent, you deserve to be accepted on the basis of your immense investment in analyzing this ever-so-dire and nerve-wracking predicament we are in. I suspect 3 is most reasonable and a few exceptional students were accepted before the Harvard deadline.

I hope option 3 is the answer.

I really, really, really want to go to SLS for a variety of reasons, and it would be my dream school. That said, you all seem like a good lot of people and it would make a rejection just ever-so-slightly less sorrowful if one of you got in besides me. (Translation: you guys rock lol).

Now, more prayers.

Stanford Admissions Office: Confidential Planning Meeting in January:

Person 1: Last year's transfer process went too smoothly.

Person 2: What can we do to make the transfer process more nerve-wracking for our applicants?

Person 3: Don't we already stress out the applicants enough by issuing our decisions in late July, after the deposit deadlines for all the other schools in California have passed?

Person 1: Nah. That's old-school. I know! What if we issue one or two decisions in early July and then hold off on all of the rest of the decisions until the end of the month?

Person 2: That sounds like a great idea! But I'm afraid the applicants will catch on too quickly.

Person 1: Tell you what. Why don't we just issue one decision per day over the course of two weeks?

Person 2: Sounds great!

Person 3: Let's do it! I can't wait to read TLS and see them freak out over there!

I was told by an admissions officer at a T-14 school that they do often read posts on here...which I'm sure most are aware of.

Regardless,

I definitely hope the above is not the case. I might actually die from nervousness.

Right when I read this, a HUGE thunderbolt sounded outside and a thunderstorm began. Bad omen? I really hope not! Now, relax folks. It'll all be fine. In two weeks or so this will all be over. :D

The two calls seems to be at the same time, right? So one a day is looking more and more probable hahahah

Haha, exactly what I thought. My Resume screams California regardless, so good assumption by them.
