A little late to the game, but yeah, it's definitely not impossible to get on main journal.
how many DC firms are coming to GULC OCI?
Obviously I don't have like a checklist to compare, but DC's BigLaw offices are adequately represented at GULC's OCI. If you are really into vault rankings, most of the Vault(insert whatever number you wish here) interviews at GULC.

I am on the waiting list at GULC. Does anyone know how often they are rendering decisions? I heard the OCI deadline is also early in July, and would hate to be admitted after that.
Thanks!
Pretty sure there is a later deadline for transfer students.

Does anyone know how long it took to access Simplicity? I paid my deposit Friday (possibly not processed until Monday), and need access to submit my bid list.

Hey txig, I received access to simplicity about three days after submitting my transfer deposit. If you have not yet received it I would call Georgetown and they are very helpful over the phone. You should have access to it by tomorrow and if not then call. Does this mean that you're choosing Georgetown over Michigan?

Got access, thanks!

How are you guys putting your bids together. We all have similar GPAs (duh), but should we be shooting for the top firms?

Does anyone have any insight about bidding strategy? Should you put firms you are competitive for first and the reach ones further down the list?

Yea, I was told to put 3.3-3.5 median GPA's towards the top of your list, in your target market... and to focus on placing those firms with only 21 interview slots above those firms with 63+ interview slots

For those who are admitted in July... Has anyone received NetID or Symplicity log-in info?
I was admitted on the first week of July, sent the deposit promptly, but they didn't give me teh NetID and Symplicity information.
MAN I have to bid for the OCI!

You should have gotten your log-in info. within a week. If you have your new admit info. sign in there, and then under one of the links (I forget, maybe "Your Info.") it will explain to you how to log-in to Symplicity. You have to change the temporary password before you can sign on.

As for everyone else. How long does it take to do a complete journal submission? I'm about to start today. Any estimate as to the time for the Bluebook test and for the writing? I need to set out a good chunk of the day to it!

Re registration: It would appear that we do not receive our course schedules until orientation on August 25. Does anyone know how this works in terms of ordering books and such? Seems like an incredibly quick turnaround...

Super curious about this! I believe it's mid-August. The submission period ended a little over a week ago, so I imagine that the journal staff has quite a bit of content to wade through before they make their decisions.

Also curious about OCI...I think the interview schedules for EIW are supposed to go up today? I don't see anything on my Symplicity yet.

Schedules are up for me. Managed to get multiple interviews.

Me too! I guess it went live at 9 a.m. Congratulations! :D

I spent 3 full days on mine, in addition to evenings after work on the remaining days. After the initial 3 days, I was just proofreading, writing personal statements for the journals that required them, and checking over my Bluebook exam.

Actually, just realized that the Office of Journal Administration states that they will release journal decisions in "early August" so I imagine that we will be hearing soon. Fingers crossed!

Should we be emailing firms we didn't get bids with? I mean I know some have gotten the response that you can just come to the hospitality suite.

Hey txig, ya I emailed the firms I didn't get. Unfortunately, none of them were interested in making room for me. But I did pick up 2 firms that are interviewing those days thru mass mail.

Ps. Did anyone obtain the exact date we will receive the journal results? Definitely hope to receive results before interviews begin.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
