Re: Fordham Class of 2013/2014
Great to see some more Fordham kids!
Sweatshirt info: In person at the bookstore, which is on the ground floor of the building on 60th street, or online at --LinkRemoved--
Anyone decided on living arrangements? At the moment I'm living in Williamsburg, and I love it, but am worried it might be a little too much of a commute for all those long nights at the library.

Re: Fordham Class of 2013/2014
Thanks for posting the sweatshirt link...that made things easier for me! As far as living arrangements, a couple friends and I are discussing trying to get something in the financial district b/c we are all working/going to school in different areas and FIDI would have all the express trains that we could ever need! Plus the apts are usually pretty nice!

Thanks for the link! I have about 4 hours to kill Tuesday in the city so I'm probably going to head up to the bookstore, hoping that it's open because finals haven't finished yet. I plan on applying for student housing as soon as the application goes up. My county in NJ is in the second group considered for student housing, so I'm hoping I can pull off one of those 80 or so slots.

Re: Fordham Class of 2013/2014
I'm home for Christmas, and my mom told me today that my Fordham Law sweatshirt is "beautiful".
On the topic of housing, someone please correct me if this is mistaken, but I have a feeling like living with fellow law students is asking for additional drama. I'd like to live closer to the school, but the idea of getting away from top-law-schools.com (especially being 3 years out of undergrad) seems pretty appealing. Thoughts?
If I do move from Williamsburg, I'm thinking Hell's Kitchen (I refuse to call it Clinton), or somewhere on the Upper West Side? I feel like the UWS is pretty expensive.
Agreed about the financial district. The apartments are nice and there is every train you could ever want. There isn't really a "neighborhood" feel, but then again, as a law student, how often are you going to be out and about in the neighborhood? Pretty much never. Not a bad trade-off for more space and great access to the subway.

Re: Fordham Class of 2013/2014
I've seen a couple of apartments on StreetEasy and Craigslist on the UWS for in the $1200/mo range, although obviously those are limited, and most are a good deal more. I agree that living with fellow law students could be both a blessing and a curse, but there is something about the stability of having university-supported housing as a one 1L that is attractive, esp. moving from a different city and job and having a couple of weeks to get settled in NYC. A lot of it comes down to the nature of the particular students (how friendly, competitive, etc.) I guess, although it seems that Fordham people I've come across have been very cool and down to earth, and people I'd have no problem living with/near.

Has everyone received their acceptance letters/packages in the mail? I haven't received anything (even thought my status checker says something was sent out 11/19 and I have asked them to resend) and was wondering if that was the norm?

Re: Fordham Class of 2013/2014
I personally am planning on moving to UWS. I have plenty of friends who live in 3-4 BR apartments and pay $1000/mo or less near Broadway between West 70th and 100th. The neighborhoods seem nice and safe and the 123 runs pretty frequently in the area.
I'm hoping that Fordham's roommate referral service can work some magic for me. My ideal roommate works full-time and is attending Fordham's evening program (or any other NYC law night program). I'm going to be working from home so I don't think i could handle the distraction of a day student hanging out all around the apt all day. It's sort of a weird situation becuase I'm a single dude in my early 20's who is super social and loves to go out and drink and all of that jazz, but my grades/work are going to suffer bigtime if I'm living with a distraction. This whole going to school and working thing is gonna be a challenge!
I agree with the above posters about living with Fordham law students - I think everyone's going to be pretty down to earth and it shouldn't be a problem.
If anyone here fits the bill feel free to PM me

I think that a lot of people are still waiting on their letters. I was accepted 12/08, and still nothing. Granted it's not 11/19, but I am in NYC.SaraT wrote:Has everyone received their acceptance letters/packages in the mail? Status checker says it was mailed on 11/17?!?!beebs wrote:I think that a lot of people are still waiting on their letters. I was accepted 12/08, and still nothing. Has anyone tried to access the admitted students website yet? I found the link via google, but I am unable to log in. I know that I am being impatient and should just wait for the letter or email with the info, but like I said I am impatient.

I called and asked about the packages since the acceptance letter said we'd only have to wait a few weeks. They won't be coming in until around Feb.

Their email clearly says that we will receive it before the New Year so hopefully next week.beebs wrote:Tried as well. No dice.kmen wrote:Has anyone tried to access the admitted students website yet? Re: Fordham Class of 2013/2014
hey everyone. In at Fordham PT and although I have 16 schools left to hear from, Fordham was my top choice anyways and I basically sure ill be attending. (99% chance)
It is hard not buying the my Fordham law hoodie yet since I really need a new hoodie (my UBC undergrad one is gettin tattered) when I havent made that 99% chance a 100 yet haha

Re: Fordham Class of 2013/2014
The university is closed for the rest of the year so I'm thinking they'll be a bit behind and give us the login info the first week of the new year. If I remember correctly from reading last year's thread the info went out either January 4th or 5th. Hope I'm wrong though, I never thought I'd be so eager to pay a deposit!kmen wrote:Their email clearly says that we will receive it before the New Year so hopefully next week.beebs wrote:Tried as well. Somehow, over the course of reading this itsy-bitsy two page thread, Fordham became my top choice. Crap. I was hoping to move somewhere a little warmer =/

Does anyone know if Fordham sends you scholarship information after the acceptance e-mail or if it would have been in the acceptance e-mail?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
