Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!
They're still coming tonight; they're just resting!

They don't wait. Mr. C's students from last spring can tell you that.

Yeah, but it's still a different situation if you want Big Law vs Public Interest or a small DA's office. Everyone has to hustle, but at least median-ish grades are almost a prereq for the former.
Oh yeah, most definitely.
Edit: Just for the sake of full disclosure, I'm a real hippie when it comes to grades at the graduate (really, even the undergraduate) level.
I'm jealous (trying really hard not to care. Never really did in undergrad).

I'm so sad he's gone. I thought he was gonna be around the whole year.

I was in his doghouse all semester with the Freak. I was too slow with facts when cold-called once

Oh I care, trust me. What I mean is that I'm one of those people that thinks that grades and rankings in general are counterproductive most of the time.

Btw, is this wait better or worse than the wait for LSAT scores? I'm not actually sure.

Worse. You don't have to worry about law schools getting all filled up because everyone's getting the score back at the same time. It's incredibly frustrating to have prospective summer employers breathing down one's neck about grade release dates and risking losing the position because, for some crazy reason, it takes 2 months to grade finals.

If I'm ever in a position of power, I'll prepose that grades be due the first Friday in January. I'm sure any decisions have to go through the faculty and they'd probably kill it, but this is worth taking a stand.

I am betting they won't be out until Tuesday or Wednesday. They are always late. Grades will be out when they are out. No sense stressing about it.

I didn't go 0-fer, but I'm still surprised that none of the NC firms wanted to interview me. Kind of sucks.

I got a WL at the only firm I sent a cover letter to. Coincidence?
I thought it was all lottery-based? Do they actually look at our resumes before "inviting?"

It appears that the 1L OCI was 100% employer pre-selects. I think the fall OCI is still based upon bidding. I also picked up a few interviews for places that I'm not really that interested in (non-firms, basically), but I guess I'll go through the interviews anyway.

I would hope not... I'm not entirely sure but I don't think the law school can send our grades to people without express authorization.

It actually says Alternate for me.

They don't. Note that pretty much every employer said something like, "bring unofficial transcript to interview." I think there's actually a federal law barring distribution of grades without consent.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
