I also got in ED today so I thought I'd start doing my part to get us to 300.YCrevolution wrote:Congrats to everyone!Cavalier wrote:The class of 2012 thread is currently 264 pages. I will be ashamed of TLS if this thread doesn't reach at least 300. Good luck everyone!
But yeah, y'all need to get at least 300.
Also, I'm too lazy to do find this myself right now, but there's some good instructions about setting up email (won't happen until April-ish) and such in the 2012 thread.

I loved UVA too much so I decided to ED. Also, I don't want to get into specifics, but I was offered some $$.missvik218 wrote:Congrats everyone!!
I don't want to burst bubbles, but would someone who got in ED already this cycle be willing to PM me to discuss their thought process around potentially sacrificing merit based scholarships!? I'm struggling to decide right now if I can afford to ED.
Lemme add to the UVA 1Ls offering you congrats and looking forward to seeing you here next year!lawlover829 wrote:I loved UVA too much so I decided to ED. Also, I don't want to get into specifics, but I was offered some $$.
There is very little "on grounds housing" (UVA has grounds, not a campus) for grad students and much of what they do have is for families. However, if you live on Arlington Blvd you're literally a block or two away from the law school. You can live that close in apartments, townhomes, or shared grad housing in the "Graduate Center".WillyTee wrote:Congrats everyone!
Question: What is the housing situation like on campus? It seems like no one is trying to stay on campus. Is it really that bad???
No, it's not overblown. The main difference between UVA and undergrad, IMO, is the workload. Gone are the days of doing two hours of reading a week and only working hard around midterms and finals. However, people here still like to have a lot of fun. Each section has a softball game once a week, but if that's not enough, you can always join other teams too (most clubs have teams, or you could just form one with some friends). And there's definitely a lot of drinking - Thursday kegs, bar review, section mixers, tailgates, not to mention pregaming those events.jcunni5 wrote:Hey I have a question for the 1Ls is the whole beer/softball thing for real or overblown. Personally I am pretty excited about the prospects of it being similar to undergrad haha but don't want to get my hopes to high.
I don't know anyone who lives in University housing. Copeley (the dorm across from the law school) has only double-occupancy rooms. I'm not in undergrad anymore; I'm done sharing a room, and I think everyone else feels this way too. I think it might be slightly cheaper than the typical options (Ivy and Arlington), and you don't have to furnish it, but I wouldn't live there even if it was free.Question: What is the housing situation like on campus? It's about as real as it gets. You can choose how much you participate in both drinking/partying and softball, but if you want plenty of both it's not hard to find.jcunni5 wrote:Hey I have a question for the 1Ls is the whole beer/softball thing for real or overblown.
