I don't really understand what the point of them posting a job if it isn't for future employment. Is it so they feel better about themselves because they had "summer associates?" Is it because they have a crap load of just awful menial work that they don't want to touch with a ten foot pole? Is it really for long term employment, but they don't want to get yelled at when the summer is over and they no hire almost everyone?

It's just cheap labor. A lot of those firms/companies aren't paying much.

Yea. Disappointed not only with the classes offerred but the piecemeal way they seemed to have be schedule. The two bankruptcy classes on friday overlap by ten minutes. How do you let those overlap like that?

Despite SMU's terrible bar passage rates, they still only offer certain bar courses only in the evenings. Where's the sense in that.

Agreed. I was really surprised especially based on previous spring schedules.

Speaking of bar passages, there is an interesting statistic running around about bar passage pt v. ft and I would love it if someone would destroy/substantiate it.

I'm really disappointed by the fact that you either have to take something in the morning or at night. Very little in-between.

And holy crap, come on. Could they have made it any more inconvenient to take Evidence in the day time? If you want to, it basically forecloses half the other classes.

I'm taking 2 night classes this semester. Both profs assign ~100 pages of reading per class, even though they are both 2-hour classes. The shit is interesting, but I feel like I'm spending a disproportionate amount of time on these classes.

The administration has always been terrible when it comes to schedules. I always found myself clicking like a mad man when classes opened at noon. The great classes always fill up or conflict with each other.

But then again, you're only paying 40k in tuition right? Also, every new lawyer needs to take animal law.

No. Creditor's Rights is the entry-level class.

Creditor's rights is an overview of the Bankruptcy Code as a whole and some state law stuff. We covered mostly ch. 7 and 13 bankruptcy, but we are covering a little bit of ch. 11 here at the end. Advanced bankruptcy seems to be just ch. 11. Other than CR giving you an understanding of bankruptcy as a whole, I don't see why you couldn't take advanced bankruptcy without having taken CR.
