Btw, has anyone visited or known someone who lives in the Stahlman? I'm looking at it because living in the actual downtown sounds pretty cool, but I can't visit Nashville until I move in.

Try asking on the facebook page, there seem to be more Vandy students on there giving helpful living advice.

When do incoming students usually start looking for housing? The Obiter Dictum says that it's helpful to travel to Nashville to find housing over the summer... but does it make sense to start looking now?

Yeah, I was ready to pick up the phone yesterday but then I got an email confirming they received my check that I mailed last Tuesday.

There's only this one deposit, right? Many schools have two deposits, but I perused the admissions docs and I don't see anything about a second one.

I don't think there's a #2 deposit. Anyone confirm?

I've begun looking now, but its difficult because many places are looking for immediate-ish move in. If you're going the Craig's List route, then you'll probably have to wait a month or two because many of the ads on there now are for May and June lease starts. Also, many of the complexes I read about from the Obiter Dictum said that they wouldn't be able to tell me if they'll have availability for August until June or so.

I have definitely found the same thing with Craig's List places; I am planning on going in June to actually find a place because that is what works best with my summer schedule.

Yeah, I think now's a little early. I think it will also be easier once Vandy releases the list of people looking for roommates.
