What are people wearing today? Jeans or more business casual?

I'm dressing down, casual Friday-style. It's a public school, so I think we can leave our blazers at home for nowrjp88 wrote:What are people wearing today? Jeans or more business casual?

I plan to wear jeans and laugh at the gunner wannabes with dreams of BigLaw and attractive secretaries dancing in their heads. I swear, the first person to start talking about their LSAT score or how hard it will be to read all these legal booky books will suffer a brutal beating.

That aside, I see no reason we cannot all be friends. Well, so long as you didn't buy tickets to 'Sex and the City 2' or engage in debates over a mosque in NYC.

Trust me...it makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE what you wear to this thing except if you are trying to impress your classmates. Faculty and staff do not give a ____.
I will see you all at Wood 'n' Tap tonight and probably on the campus before then.

I'm fairly certain that I wore jeans to my orientation a couple years ago...either jeans or shorts.

Is "Wood N Tap" a bar? And is that in downtown Hartford?? If so, I won't be there... A bit nervous about driving in the city. But see ya'll at Orientation !

It is a bar down Sisson Ave, within walking/biking/rollerblading/rollerskating distance of campus. It's .8 of a mile, according to google maps:Lighthouse28 wrote:Is "Wood N Tap" a bar? edit: that's the west end, not downtown.

Oh ok, that's not too far. But I also don't drink, so I'm not sure if I'll go or not. Is that a part of orientation? Did they decide on this place for us to meet up? I guess I could go and just not drink, I'll think about it !

Re: UConn Class of 2013
There will be a shuttle running from outside of Starr Hall on campus to Wood 'n' Tap and back all night. As someone walks out and desires to go back to campus the bus will go until I think about 1am.
So no worries about driving or walking and worrying about getting jumped.

You don't have to drink...I think they are doing food specials too and you should DEF go...many/most did the last two years (although it was held at other places).

I was going to say that the neighborhood between Farmington Ave and the Wood n Tap is a little sketchy, but I didn't want to dissuade anyone from coming. But it is. Take the shuttle.Drew82abndiv wrote:

Oh, good for the shuttle !
I hope you guys are still checking this forum before Orientation... where should I park on campus? We don't have parking stickers yet, so I hope they aren't towing yet or something??

Re: UConn Class of 2013
Hey buddy, no worries, they will give you your sticker and they do not tow. I know people who in 2 years have never purchased a parking pass and have not even so much as gotten a ticket. I don't recommend it but I assure you 100% that you will not get a ticket or be towed today or tomorrow.
That said, park anywhere on campus except handicapped spaces.

Ok guys I am headed out! I am nervous and excited. The application/admission part of our law school journey is finally over, and now we move on to the next level. I'm nit trying to make a speech or anything but I've been chatting with some of you for the better part of a year, and I am psyched for us. I'll see you there!!

Re: UConn Class of 2013
So is this thread dead now that classes are about to begin?
Burger, I was trying to spot you amongst all the 1L's... trying to guess which one might be you lol But I couldn't figure it out. And I only talked to a handful of people anyway. Ok, back to my reading... I was hoping to have a Modern Family marathon before classes begin, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Don't try to spot me!!! I am trying to maintain my secret identity! (if you figure it out you have to keep it a secret.)Lighthouse28 wrote:So is this thread dead now that classes are about to begin?

I think this thread sort of died a while ago sadly- it's mostly been just the two of us here for a while... back to torts!!

True say. Even if I figure out who you are, I wouldn't tell anyone, no worries. But since we are the only two here, Drew was able to figure out who I was when I asked him if he was the Drew from TLS, oopsBurger in a can wrote:Don't try to spot me!!! And I'm working on Torts right now too! I am a bit behind in my readings... I underestimated the amount of readings I had to do for the first day of classes... so I better go now!
