Cardozo Class of 2013

Post by carlkenneth » Sat Mar 06, 2010 9:04 pm

Didn't see a thread for this yet so I thought I'd get it started. I'm about 90% certain that I'll be there this fall. I've visited twice and love it. Anyone else made up there mind yet? I'm getting kind of excited.

Did they give you your decision via status checker?

No, they didn't. My status checker changed to 'decision rendered' and had tuition deposit $ amounts on the bottom of the screen. About two hours later I got a phone call. The next day I got a packet in the mail.

Congrats to you, carlkenneth!!! :)

When did you go complete for cardozo? I had mine complete about a month ago and haven't heard anything yet... Should I be feeling anxious? (Not that I'm not anxious right now! All this waiting is... making me kinda annoyed and strangely, kinda excited at the same time! I'm weird, lol!)

Hope I can "officially" post here soon!

I actually first got the email inviting me to Admitted Students Day, not realizing that I had missed the phone call 30 minutes before. I was so confused, but like "hey, at least I'm in!" My packet came two days later in the mail.

:-( Still no news. I am going to assume an epic fail on this one! I really wanted to go too.

I applied pretty early in the cycle (11/2) and went complete on 11/10. They didn't start reviewing apps until January. I received the phone call on January 28. Don't know if this is helpful at all. From what I can tell from LSN it seems to take them about 4-6 weeks to review applications.

I applied, or I should say my file went complete, on 2/3/2010. I wish someone who has been dinged would talk about it. Isn't it weird how little support Cardoza has on TLS?!? You and I weren't the only ones who applied and are interested in going. Normally, at this bracket in the tier there's a group of applicants comparing/complaining.

If anyone is planning on living in the Alabama I'm interested in living in a two-bedroom apt and instead of getting randomly assigned a roommate, I thought I'd ask around to see if I could find a roommate.

PM me if you're interested

Hey does anyone know what the next steps are after we submit our deposits? Did any of you get a packet in the mail indicating other forms that we have to submit? I assume they will need our immunization forms, etc.

hey guys, this is a pretty slow moving thread, so just wanted to bump it up with a quick question.

what are you thinking for housing?

the dorm cant be beat for location or convenience but the price is scary.
i want to get an apartment in the vill, but dont want to have to go through the major hunt.

I haven't received any forms or anything either but I figure the deposit deadline just passed so we'll get stuff eventually.

Also I saw that someone made a facebook group for the class of 2013

The dorm is pretty pricey, but to be honest its much cheaper than the average apt in the village. I live in NYC already (Brooklyn) so its a little easier for me, but I'm thinking of moving to Manhattan. Maybe Harlem or the Lower East Side. I'm also considering Williamsburg (in Brooklyn), because its just over the bridge from Manhattan, and only 3 train stops from Union Square.

yeah. i totally understand the need to save money but trying to find a roomie and an apartment before school starts will mostly likely prove to be a hassle. one i don't really want to go through.

I'm starting in the May program so I have to find an apartment in a month! I thought getting a sublet would be easy, but it's just as frustrating as finding your own apartment. I figured I'd deal with the randomness over the summer and use the time before fall to find a more permanent situation. And a roommate.
