He should do what he wants to do. If it's Notre Dame that is luring him away, I can understand that. I didn't even apply there because it would have taken a lot of money from them to get me there, which I am sure would have never come, but it is a good school.

at this rate, we won't be drinking double for those that have jumped ship, we shall be drinking triple. everyone, bring your own spare liver, extra kidneys will be handed out in your welcome packages.

Halibut, how connected did you feel the law school was to the rest of the campus? It is kind of on the outskirts, right in the heart, or somewhere else?
I suppose non-academic means "fucking awesome 'Little 500' partying"?

I'm not sure about 'Little 500' but the other three words capture my visit to IUB well.

as much as i want to go to IU-B, it is just so much cheaper for me to go to OU, and i'm well connected in the state of Oklahoma, so i'm pretty sure i'm not going to IU-B

I just booked my flight to IU today. When looking for hotels, though, it seems that everywhere is booked to the max. Is there some kind of big event going on that weekend? Obviously, Spring Law Day will not bring enough people to Bloomington to take all of the hotels.

I'm going to talk to admissions on Monday morning to see what they suggest, but this is pretty unsettling.

Honestly though. I don't know what you're seeing, but I see tons of places on hotels.com and Kayak.

I see them, too, but when you click to book them it says they are full. I have also tried going directly to the hotels' websites, and they're booked there, too. The IU Memorial Union hotel is where I wanted to stay, and that is booked as well.

This is EXACTLY what I was afraid of. Did you ever hear back from admissions regarding a travel stipend?!

On hotels.com it lets me book the hotels that show up with rates.
So basically nothing right near the law school is available. But there are a bunch up near the stadium: Hampton Inn, Crowne Plaza, etc.

I finally booked a place, but it looks like I'm going to be hiking to the LS on that Saturday morning.

No, I just decided to go ahead and get everything together now and hope for a stipend later.

They never got back to me on that, either. I guess it's not that big of a deal, but I'd certainly appreciate some help.

So where is everyone staying? The adjectives that describe my taste in women are also applicable to my booking needs: fast and cheap.

+1, I searched around a bit this morning and didn't find any vacancies.

Yikes. Google Maps quotes it at 1.5 miles away. How do you plan to get to an from? Bus, I imagine?

Maybe. I'll probably just walk, though. It's almost a 20-minute bus ride, so it probably wouldn't take much longer to just walk it.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
