rejectmaster, did you find out anything about the happy hour? I might be interested in catching the Jets Giants game (are you a Jets or Giants fan)?

Just to chime in, I'm a major Giants fan and would love a study/football group this fall. Anyone in?jkresh wrote:rejectmaster, did you find out anything about the happy hour? I might be interested in catching the Jets Giants game (are you a Jets or Giants fan)?
In other news, I just logged in to my portal. Have my e-mail and first reading assignments. I'm not sure if I should be excited or sad about the latter.....

I made it! Staying at a lovely Hilton out in Alexandria this week, shacking up with my brother next week until my apartment is ready.
Where'd you find your reading list?

If you log into the Admit portal it will bring you to a regular student portal and on the left hand side there are links to syllabi and first week reading assignments.Aston2412 wrote:Where'd you find your reading list?

Hrm, apparently I never got registered for the "law portal." There are so many damned different websites and username / pw combinations.

Re: GW Class of 2013
Apparently I missed all the "admitted" students portals. I just did MyGW - thought that was good. Clearly I was wrong. I might go try to sort it out later today.

Soooo - what should I have done for orientation that I probably didn't do?
Also how's everyone dressing? Is there a dress code posted anywhere?

Going with t shirt and skirt. As for pre-orientation stuff: I have my loan deferment request printed up but am not sure that they won't just automatically do that. I also have my print-out from the ASD in the spring so I can get my travel reimbursement.

I can't believe I had to read a case to learn how to brief.... Did you notice how many random rules it cited? I bet thats going to be a bitch to work with tomorrow.
edit: I'm assuming you guys got the same or a similar case to mine.

Went through it last night with my brother though. Think I'm in pretty good shape.

It wasnt bad to read, but for briefing I bet they purposefully made it annoying.

Re: GW Class of 2013
My analysis sucks. Our case was about this guy getting a hole-in-one and whether or not he should win a car that was promised in signs even though the signs were meant for an earlier tournament. The dissenter dissents because he says they shouldn't even decide the case because it's gambling and they don't have jurisdiction in things that are illegal. But the decision states that getting a hole-in-one is skill not chance and they back it up. The dissenter says it's chance with no argument. So my analysis on his part is that he likes to golf and is offended that someone might somewhat 'choose' to make a hole-in-one. Because maybe he stinks.

Re: GW Class of 2013
you are in my section then! We didn't use that case at all though, which was really annoying.
