Here. I knew I was choosing a more uncertain path with public interest, especially in a relatively narrow field/specialty, and I thought I was ok with it. But as graduation approaches, the uncertainty is getting pretty crushing and I’m spiraling into serious self-doubt.

OP here. Also in a pretty niche field, so I'm definitely with you - especially as a lot of other PI people are starting to get jobs. I'm happy for them, of course, but it's a lonely feeling.
