Has anyone heard from Ropes & Gray NYC? If so, what was your timeline?

Oh okay, did you get confirmation of receipt from Helen after applying? I literally just made their deadline last week.

No confirmation e-mail. Applied early Jan. They said they would likely be doing interviews through the week of March 4th.

Is there a timeline to hear back after CB? I've been waiting for 2 weeks now... should I follow up?

For firms, 3 weeks has been the norm for me. In-house internships have been less than a week.

For these firms that you head back from in 3 weeks, did they give you offers?

1 offer, 3 rejections. Awaiting 2 more firms - one explicitly gave me a 3 week timeline and I suspect the other will be right around the same timeline. I should say that I've been in the first crop of interviews for all of these so I knew going in they had at least another week of interviews. The timeline could be shorter than 3 weeks for those who are in the later group of interviews.

Baltimore, not V100, Baker Donelson and another similar sized firm. I got dinged by some larger firms, but still excited. If you're in a major market like DC etc, good luck. I applied to a bunch and barely got a second look there. 2L OCI will be easier, much more opportunity for all of us

Congrats! And, yes, DC was rough. 2L will definitely be better.

I found this useful when I looked at old threads so for any current or future 1L job seekers, here are my final results:

150+ applications submitted (mostly firms, 8 in-house positions), T30-ish school, >Top 5%, URM

Ended up with 17 interview requests, I've bolded the callbacks:

V50 (Atl), V50 (Chi), AmLaw 100 (Mid-Atlantic), V100 (Minneapolis), V50 (No Cal), V50 (DC), AmLaw 150 (No Cal), V10 (No Cal), V30 (DC), AmLaw 100 (Mid-Atlantic), NLJ 200 (Southeast), NLJ 300 (No Cal), V150 Midsize (No Cal), Plaintiff''s firm (No Cal), V150 Midsize (DC), V100 (LA), AmLaw 200 (South Florida)

Offers: V10 (No Cal), V150 Midsize (DC), V100 (LA)
4 post CB dings, 2 applications withdrawn post-CB after offer accepted, 1 application withdrawn post-screener after offer accepted

Also: 4 in-house screeners/screener requests, 2 CBs (2 offers, 2 applications withdrawn after screener request) ; and 1 paid non-profit screener

My experience was that the in-house offers came a lot earlier than the firm offers forcing me to decide between playing it safe and gambling. I gambled, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend that course of action. Because of my background, I felt good about the paid non-profit position so I still would have been OK (though earning $10,000 less than the in-house positions) if I had completely struck out with firms. Also, for the best chance of a 1L firm gig, be aggressive in your application approach, apply early, and apply broadly. Obviously, it helps if you qualify for diversity positions. 2 of my 3 offers and my 4 post CB dings were diversity positions. That said, even those are extremely hard to get. I applied for every one out there and for the vast majority I didn't even get a screener.
