citations for memo
I have to write a memo for my supervisor at a new job. Should I put citations in footnotes or in the text itself?

Ask him. Many firms, agencies, etc. have their own particular style guidelines for memos. Or perhaps even a particular partner/supervisor likes to see things a particular way. Just ask generally if they have any style guidelines they'd like you to follow, citation in line or in footnotes, etc.

Alright I will ask next time. But it's too late to ask now because the due date is approaching. I have to just go with one. Which is more standard practice and thus a safer bet for the first time?Bure96 wrote:Ask him. Many firms, agencies, etc. have their own particular style guidelines for memos. No idea whether this is standard, but I've usually used footnotes or endnotes.Anonymous User wrote:Alright I will ask next time. But it's too late to ask now because the due date is approaching.
