OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
Hoping to discuss OCI callback/offer ratios with y'all. Current 2L who secured a BigLaw SA. Yet, it was my only offer out of 8+ callbacks and my ratio makes me feel very undeserving. Anyone in the same position?

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
That’s ridiculous. You expect to land every job in a highly competitive market? I think the 0Ls believe once they get into certain schools and get certain grades, every job is handed to them.
Be realistic about the job market you are in.

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
Scroll through this thread for 15 minutes and you'll see how fortunate you are to have gotten 8 callbacks, let alone a single offer. All you need is one, and you got it. You're golden, don't get caught up in your head about it.
If you're super concerned, polish your interviewing skills or something. Whether someone else got 8/8 offers or 0/8 offers has no impact on you. Everything is arbitrary, be glad you have one. If they gave it to you, you deserve it.

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
I got 1 from 8. I am now totally done thinking about OCI and the 2L hiring process. It's behind me. Put it behind you.

Top 1/3 MVPD with prior work experience. 12 offers from 16 callbacks spread around NYC, DC and a secondary (home) market.

1/1 pre-OCI. 2/2 OCI. Top 1/3 CCN. Networking does wonders.

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
bottom 1/3 at lower t14 had 5 callbacks and 1 offer
i am a good interviewer and have a pretty strong above average resume outside of 1l grades
a lot of ppl around median at my t14 school struck out i am wondering if biglaw hiring is especially down this year?

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
26 screeners, 14 CBs, 6 offers here. Stats: T14, LR, unsure of exact class rank but well above-median GPA.
ETA: Since others are discussing it, probably an average or below average interviewer & KJD with an otherwise unimpressive resume. Targeted DC.

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
8 offers w/ 12 callbacks on 16 screeners.
Networking was the key. Probably around top 30-40% at DMVP. Strong interviewer. No journal. No moot court.

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
Top third at a T1. 18 screeners, 7 cbs, 4 offers but cancelled/withdrew from a couple cbs after accepting an offer.
My biggest takeaway was how much interviewing skills matter. The importance of grades goes without saying, but once you get to the screener, forget about grades and focus on presenting yourself. I was initially an alternate at the firm I accepted an offer from, so don't count yourself out if you get off an alternate list. I could be wrong, but I don't think the screener will know or even care that you were pulled from the alternate list.

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
30+ screeners, 3 callbacks, 1 offer. In the top couple of people at a school ranked 25-40, LR, interviewed exclusively in a competitive market outside my school's region. Apparently terrible interviewing skills, very happy to have an offer.

It doesn’t matter unless the ratio does not exist (assuming the ratio is treated like a fraction).

Re: OCI Callback/Offer Ratio
Above median at lower t13, but not law review.
42 screeners. Fourteen callbacks (didn't do five of them). I did nine callbacks, but only had results from eight of those, five of which were offers.
Four screeners were pre-oci. Three turned into call-backs. One turned into an offer (hometown secondary market).
I spoke with multiple attorneys at every firm, other than the NYC one, that gave me an offer.
