Contacted FDIC recently bc I had another offer, they said they’ve already contacted those with offers and formal rejection letters will be sent out once their background checks go through. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.Anonymous User wrote:Same here.Anonymous User wrote:Hi, I also received an e-mail but have not heard back since.Anonymous User wrote:Hi, has anyone heard from the DOL Honors Program? I got one follow-up email asking me to provide my preferred cities in November, telling me I was still in consideration, but I haven't had a follow up. Thanks in advance
Any FDIC updates?

Happy new year, everyone!
With the holidays over (*sigh*), has anyone heard from DOL since receiving an active consideration email in November? Anything at this point would be helpful and much appreciated--this wait/silence is killer. Thanks much!

Happy new year! I had an interview with a regional office the week before Christmas, and have not heard anything since. I also had an active consideration email in November. Best of luck!Anonymous User wrote:Happy new year, everyone!

You're not going to be hearing from anyone from when the government shutdown began

This seems definitely true for agencies that are closed due to lack of appropriations (eg, HUD, although HUD appears to have sent out offers before the shutdown according to this thread). I wonder if that’s the case for DOL, which is funded through October 1 and is open for business. I could definitely see delays occurring, however, between the holidays and the overall uncertainty of the shutdown.Anonymous User wrote:You're not going to be hearing from anyone from when the government shutdown began

Even though some agencies are still open, OPM is not. OPM being shut down is going to have some affect on hiring, especially since they do the background checks. My office has a couple hiring actions that we are moving forward on, but it is unknown when or if we will be able to submit "firm offers."Anonymous User wrote:This seems definitely true for agencies that are closed due to lack of appropriations (eg, HUD, although HUD appears to have sent out offers before the shutdown according to this thread). This may have a larger effect on those being hired outside of the agency/federal government as I imagine those already in the system will not need additional checks (not sure about this though). the Honors Programs probably fall into this category. I see no reason that informal offers will not be extended though, subject to the background check being completed.

OK, so the lights are back on in DC... any reports of progress in the last couple of days? I have heard nothing from Interior, USDA or NHTSA.

I am assuming that if I haven't heard anything from any of these programs by now, given that applications were submitted in September, then I can just move on. Anyone else out there still waiting?

I applied for the FCC last year and was interviewed on Feb 1. With the shutdown and maybe another one coming, you might hear from them.

Is it likely all the SOL/DOL Honors positions have been filled, or the finalists have been notified? I haven't heard a single thing since my interview months ago.

I had my USACE qualifying interview with HQ beginning of January and just heard back yesterday that I am "qualified" to be hired.

I got a call from HUD last Friday asking me if I was still interested. I had never heard from them since submitting my application back in January. They said they would let me know if they were offering a position this week or next.

Has anyone heard from FCC, Interior or USDA? I figured that they may be behind due to shutdown but we must be beyond the realistic date by now.
