If Ropes hasn’t gotten back to me yet after Tuesday cB, then does not mean I’m on hold? Darn because I really wanted them.

Re: NY Offers
Quick question: I received an offer from a NYC law firm, but more and more I'm realizing that I want to be in San Francisco (I have ties there as well). How awkward/successful would I be if I essentially said to the NYC office, "Thanks for the offer, but can I interview with your SF office?"

Is not getting a response from Ropes after a CB a bad sign? I had it Tuesday....

Do you mind sharing your school/gpa? You're the only W&C NY offer I've heard so far.Anonymous User wrote:White & Case offer 24 hours after an afternoon CB.

Any updates? Have you heard anything?Anonymous User wrote:Nope!Anonymous User wrote:Thank you! You’re helping me keep a smal glimmer of hope alive. Have you heard back from them yet?Anonymous User wrote:CB last Tuesday, and I was told the same thing. Reached out to one of the rising 3Ls who summered there and she said it took about two weeks for her to hear back, and one of the attorneys I interviewed with mentioned that the hiring committee doesn't always meet every week. So I wouldn't lose hope at all.Anonymous User wrote:Jones Day CB last Monday...the recruiter said it could be as long as 2 weeks but I haven't heard. Should I give up hope at this point?
Really disappointed I haven't heard. I LOVED them.
Also I feel you - those offices are STUNNING.

Re: NY Offers
Bad move. Offices are usually on different tracks and getting into one office doesn't mean you'll have an "in" with the other; the most they would probably do is pass your resume along. You may as well think of them as different firms, usually. It would also show that you're not that interested in the office you got the offer in - I don't know how often they rescind offers, but they can.Anonymous User wrote:Quick question: I received an offer from a NYC law firm, but more and more I'm realizing that I want to be in San Francisco (I have ties there as well). Also, from experience, San Francisco is very hard to break into. You need a top GPA from a top school, even with strong ties. The fact that you got into the NYC office doesn't mean at all that you can get into their San Francisco office. If anything, I would just apply directly instead of asking someone in the NYC office to hook you up.

Quickest is 2 days, but if you had your CB later in the week, it can take until the weekend or the following MondayAnonymous User wrote:Anyone have a sense of the Kirkland callback/offer timeline?
I had my callbacks on Wednesday afternoon and got my offer the following Monday afternoon
