You should not do screeners with a firm that you would not accept an offer with. OCS will tell you not to drop screeners past a certain date no matter what, but you should ignore them. Be polite about it though. Don't just no-show.
Do a lot of people no show? Looking at past screener-to-callback rates, some of the less popular firms have very low conversion rates. Wondering if this is because a bunch of people no showed.

I didn't get the sense that it was common.

What's an average amount of screeners to actually attend?

What is the protocol for canceling screeners after the drop period is over? I just got an offer from my 1L SA. I would choose my 1L firm over most of the firms on my interview schedule. Don't want to waste anyone's time. Should I reach out to the interviewers listed on CSM individually to let them know? I don' want to just no show.

Maybe ask OCS if they can cancel for you. It could be less of a hassle for you if they can contact all of the firms on your behalf. If OCS says "no" (or anything else unreasonable) then I'd just email the interviewers like you mentioned.

The firms don't want to have their time wasted either.

I believe other people will have the opportunity to add slots, including on the day of the interview. Tell OCS ASAP.
I'd say don't reach out to the interviewers individually; they'll interview whoever walks through the door.

Bid broadly but you’ll be fine. I know a couple people with those grades or worse who got multiple offers in NYC. One person had 1H and 1LP and got like five offers to V40 firms.

That being said, take every screener you can until you get an offer.

Firms, especially in NY, just don't really care about grades from HLS. Obviously there are exceptions but you’ll be fine.

Definitely go through OCS. Also, is your 1L firm bringing you back for another 10 weeks next summer? If not, then maybe don’t be so hasty dropping interviews.

The answer for almost any grade specific question from HLS is the same:

Your grades are less relevant than your personality. I got an offer from Cravath with an LP. I assume more than 1 LP would be disqualifying at many top firms but honestly, wouldn't surprise me if someone halfway charismatic could still get multiple offers from nyc v10s.

Straight Ps will get you any nyc biglaw job other than Wachtell and lit boutiques as long as you are a great interviewer. And truly excellent grades will make up for being completely autistic at most firms, but some will just not be interested in people they don't like, regardless of academic excellence.

thank you so much for posting this. Did you bring up the LP in your interview?

Anyone heard from Linklaters NY?

I know OCS is collecting real-time callback data, where are they posting them?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
