Skadden Hours Requirement for Bonus
Who else at Skadden (or elsewhere) will be missing out on the bonus because of the productive hours requirement? Are any other firms doing this? It seems extremely nasty - and cheap - to spring a productive hours requirement on us mid year. Is the firm going through some kind of financial trouble?

It boggles my mind that people like this exist. Unless you're a partner, then of course the bitterness makes perfect sense.Anonymous User wrote:yeah its so nasty for a firm to "spring on" a potential mid-year bonus.
Being the only V10 to put an hours requirement on the summer bonus is going to have the headhunters circling. I'm pretty confident that they'll be quite successful as well.

Has anyone confirmed if and how this policy will be enforced?

I spoke discreetly to someone I know in attorney development and he said it would be based on hours to the end of May. I'm guessing it will be like the end of year bonus, so if you're close there might be some leeway, particularly if you're having a strong June.

I heard a rumor they've now decided it will be based on hours to the end of 2017. Seems bizarre they can't just tell us. Looks like we'll all just have to see whether the money's in our bank accounts on Friday based on whatever mystery metric they've decided on by that point.

There sure are a lot of...what’s the right word? Not cuckolds, but similar idea. Bootlickers? Partners? On this forum that are pro-firm and anti-associate. It’s bizarre that so many people are against their own self interests. But I guess that’s why people vote republican. The mystery of the human condition continues.
