So I don’t totally get it. Some things are up but others are not? So unless someone here says otherwise, we can assume the list could be updated as more trickle in?

I've done this several years and components post throughout two days. A component generally posts all names at the name time, but not all components post at the same time. So more components could trickle in.

May I ask you your stats? I thought I would have a good shot at Consumer since I've been in a Consumer Protection fellowship the last year; a little sad I didn't get it.

What does it mean that only some informal participants have moved forward with the hiring process? What about those that haven't moved forward yet?

I got an interview with the consumer protection branch. Graduated summa from a top 140 law school, EIC of the law review, and two federal clerkships, one district and one circuit. Hope your luck turns around.

Or they just don’t want to follow the same timelines. The whole point of being informal is that they’re not stuck on the same train as everyone else.

Interview with ENRD.

I was very excited when I got two interviews today in the civil division. It hit me a couple hours later that these interviews are for Sessions' DOJ. The two branches I'm interviewing with don't per se further the worst Trump policies, but it's still the DOJ under this administration. How do people feel about this? Am I the only one who is currently debating if all of this is okay? I would love to hear some other people's thoughts.

Meh, I wouldn't worry about it. I have the same concerns, but I don't think (a) anyone will hold it against you or (b) if you disagree with the policies you shouldn't work for the administration. Think Ainsley Hayes on the West Wing.

I'd like to think I'd rise above differences to do good work. Besides, I think if you're really a bleeding heart, it's better to do as much as you can on the inside to mitigate bad policies while still discharging your duties, rather than have some crazy right wing prosecutor who tries to prosecute people who don't deserve it.

Also got some interviews, including SDNY USAO.

Do they REALLY need two LORs? Anyone have any inside info on this?

Are you really going to second guess their written instructions? Yes, they really want you to provide 2 LORs.
