Also curious to see where other OCIJ candidates ranked and how many places they put down?
FYI The message from Deana wasn’t sent it an email. It’s found in the community tab on Avue

Has anyone had their references checked by Tax-Crim or Crim-AFML? Also, any word on finalists from Tax Crim or Tax Civ?

No. I think they’re doing their brown bag lunch tomorrow, then they’ll start calling references.

Any updates on NY Antitrust or EOIR? I did not have my references checked for NY Antitrust, but did for EOIR.

Is there a way to know which component is checking your references?

Cool, I know at least on of my references was checked last week, but I'm not sure about my other two references. Good luck in the process!

In the past I remember OCIJ doing this fairly regularly, so I don’t think it means anything one way or another.

Ask your references? They will have talked to a human being from a specific component.

Good to know, a reference told me they got an email, but I didn’t realize they will then talk to a human from a specific component. Thanks!

From Deanna on AVUE (not emailed)

USAO-District of Arizona met hiring goal
"Hi, all:

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Arizona has met its hiring goals, with two acceptances received as of today. I just sent an update to the remaining candidates and updated status on Avue."

Yes, hope that didn't come out snarky, but IME the individual components doing the hiring check references, not the central OARM people. At least, that was the case when I was hired/my references were checked (the hiring person called my judge and they spoke on the phone). I suppose it could vary by component.

Good luck to everyone. For those that got interviews for the FBI, would you mind sharing your background and qualifications, like did you do moot court, law review, etc? I’m curious to know what they were looking for (that I didn’t have).
