I just received an offer from EOIR OCIJ at my first choice in Cleveland. There is still hope for those waiting.

Accepted an offer with EOIR and completed e-Qip but obviously still worried our offers may be rescinded if budget is pulled.

Has anyone who has accepted an offer from EOIR had their background checks cleared?

Still waiting. I accepted my offer around Thanksgiving. Turned in all the forms and paperwork shortly after the government reopened.

Same here! I would hope that if they have an issue they would contact us? When I went through the same process for my summer internship for 1L, I remember it being quite similar as in I submitted my paperwork then I got an background interview request 3 months later w no word in between other than a fingerprint request due to the agency's own security policy.

For what it’s worth I haven’t been contacted for a background check interview either but I submitted my materials like two months ago because I was a late offeree.

Haven't had my interview scheduled either. My nerves are also racked. Submitted my materials in March because I did not get them until after the shutdown.

Not everyone needs an interview for clearance. EOIR does not require a Secret level clearance, and it is my understanding that that only those positions that require that level and above need an in person interview.

Also EOIR does require a Secret clearance because you are working with classified information (A numbers, social security numbers, etc)

That’s personally identifying information (PII) but it’s definitely not classified.

Received offer in early September (funnel offer)
Submitted eQIP and supporting documents in early February after the furlough.
Drug tested in early May.
Just got scheduled for my FBI interview in late June.

Hope everyone's nerves/stress isn't too out of hand.

I had my drug test the first week of June, and my FBI interview on June 11 (I'm OCIJ in NYC). I'm not sure what final steps are necessary, but just glad some movement is happening

Just had my FBI interview. FBI agent’s got a few more steps to take to finish his report to send to headquarters (interview former employers, neighbors, etc.). Hopefully adjudication is fairly quick and were all cleared soon.

If you don't mind sharing, what was your general timeline in regards to submitting eQIP, drug test, and FBI interview? Just curious how long the process took.

Sure. I received an offer back in the fall, did eQIP and drug test in March, and my interview was in May.

Just for comparison for the OP.... I got my offer in November, had to submit my eQIP end of February, had my interview in middle of June, and just did my drug test a couple of days ago (early July).

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
