Checking in.
Current clerk and graduated top 10% from T1 with law review. I'm trying to really nail my essays, but I just don't know what chance I really have! Fingers crossed. Anyways, good luck to everyone.

Checking in. Anyone know when components start to send out interview offers? Especially the informal components, like the USAOs?

Check the forum online. Interview requests for formal components all go out at once on a specific date (usually around the 3rd week of September I think). It’s all very formalized and usually explained in the community section of the application website.Anonymous User wrote:Checking in. Anyone know when components start to send out interview offers? Caveat that I can’t guarantee that the informal participants follow the same schedule - I think in past years they have, but I don’t think they have to.

Thanks, good to know. Most I saw was "late September" for interview notifications, but I guess that's relatively specific. Also, I noticed that some of the components require significantly more after getting an interview. SDNY USAO, for example, requires 2 LORs and 2 writing samples, along with some other forms...Anonymous User wrote:Check the forum online. Re: DOJ Honors Program 2018-2019
yeah, that's what the website says, but there should be (or at least there used to be) a community forum tab in the application website itself (Avue), and Deanna Willis posts updates about selection dates there. You get a notification that you've been selected for an interview, then you get a notification about the component that selected you for an interview (although again, they updated the application site in the last couple of years, so the site may tell you right away who picked you? not sure if that was a feature or a bug), then you get a notification of what additional materials you need to provide and when to send them by (though it looks like SDNY is "immediately" lol). There's one central office that arranges all the travel, which is one of the reasons why there's this weird archaic system.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks, good to know. Last year they came out on the last Thursday in September, and informal components generally came out the day before, so, tomorrow.oboboy14 wrote:They better.Anonymous User wrote:So...this is late September... interview offers have to come out this week right?

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2018-2019
Update from Deana on the avue community section that interviews will be posted by EOD tomorrow!
"We are in the final stages of selecting interview candidates for the Honors Program (SLIP selections generally follow about a week later). I anticipate posting status updates not later than close of business Thursday, September 27th, absent unanticipated delays. We endeavor to get them out as quickly as possible and will expedite when possible."
