A firm told me in June they'd interview me before OCI in July. I provided my schedule.
I haven't yet gotten an interview scheduled. HR rep said they'd get back "soon." Does it just take a while to schedule? Normal?

I’m in a similar situation. I imagine things will start moving faster next week after the holiday week is over.Anonymous User wrote:A firm told me in June they'd interview me before OCI in July. I provided my schedule.

Sounds normal, then. I suppose firms hoard resumes and interviewees, then release all at once in July. I do think July 9 and onward should be busy post-holiday.

I didn't do any pre-OCI mailing but got invited to interview w/ a V60 based on putting them on my bid list. Do they do this to get me to accept their offer in lieu of potential offers from higher-ranked firms at OCI?

Two V15 NY office's recruiters both replied to my mass mail saying I should submit my materials online. Kinda odd since the email already had my resume and stuff. Is that a soft ding? Stats: west coast t20, top 1%.

I’ve gotten a few of these too. I don’t think it’s a ding at all. They’re probably just trying to streamline the process for themselves by having everyone submit through the online app.Anonymous User wrote:Two V15 NY office's recruiters both replied to my mass mail saying I should submit my materials online. Re: Pre-OCI 2018
Does anyone know whether if you submitted your materials to a firm and they ask you in for a pre-OCI callback, does this indicate any higher likelihood of an offer than if you got a callback during the normal OCI process?

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
No, you get 28 days from offer to decide (according to NALP guidelines) and some firms will call with an offer but start the 28 day clock fromthe date of when they send an official letter, which they’ll do closer to the end of your school’s early interview week. Likely just means they like you.brainking wrote:I didn't do any pre-OCI mailing but got invited to interview w/ a V60 based on putting them on my bid list. Re: Pre-OCI 2018
idk if anyone can definitively answer (my hunch is it's too variable/dependent on the firm). at least in my case, I know firms have shown interest and tried to schedule interviews because I'm working (this summer) in the market I want to work (next summer + beyond) and I go to school across the country, so every firm that pre interviews me saves money or gets to interview another T6 person for less $$.Does anyone know whether if you submitted your materials to a firm and they ask you in for a pre-OCI callback, does this indicate any higher likelihood of an offer than if you got a callback during the normal OCI process?

Re: Pre-OCI 2018
I've sent my materials to 3 firms so far - had one callback the other week (got an offer), and have two more callbacks scheduled this week. Not sure if the fact I was interviewing through Pre-OCI played any part in my offer, but I'm sure it helped signal my interest level, and I think the fact that firms can be a little bit more selective during Pre-OCI probably means a callback is a slightly stronger indicator of interest from the firm than a callback might be during regular OCI.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know whether if you submitted your materials to a firm and they ask you in for a pre-OCI callback, does this indicate any higher likelihood of an offer than if you got a callback during the normal OCI process?

Do NY firms fly out CA people for pre-OCI CBs?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
