Can we expect after this person rejects some that those rejected firms may call back other students?

If you received an actual ding email then probably not but if you haven’t heard anything then it is possible. but the firm also doesn’t expect everyone to accept their offer and knows their typical yield rate, so more people than normal would have to reject their offers.

“below median GPA”

DPW’s 10th percentile over 5 years is a 3.5... not buying the credibility of this post

Whether or not you believe something, please keep it positive here! Say nothing if you can only be negative. Vitriol is not a good look or mindset.

Diversity is a powerful word.

***not trying to argue about this and whether or not you agree.
Without arguing the merits of diversity, I don’t think it plays nearly as much in this phase of hiring. Even then, 40 duke offers in 5 years means less than 1 person per year gets a DPW offer with below a 3.5 (likely 1 person with a 3.5 and three people below that). Numbers are similar for Paul Weiss, 41 offers in 5 years w a 10% of 3.47. So, I don’t believe that this person with a GPA .2 lower than those listed percentiles, with each office going that low less than 1 time per year, hit both of those.

I don’t see why people come on TLS and post things just to stress out their classmates.

I don’t think questioning the truth of something is vitriolic, especially when it’s based on facts

Again, I don’t think saying “the numbers go against what this person is saying” is being malicious... this seems like a strange profession to go into while maintaining such an aversion to facts. But I’m glad we’re all on the same team :)

Thanks!

Not OP but I think that questioning things that seem untrue isn't fighting or being an asshole. To the extent that it prevents misinformation from getting around (and what other way is there than to identify falsehoods as such?), it's actually helpful and a service to the "team." I don't read OP's post as being a vitriolic attack at all.

I think there are legitimate questions raised when anyone claims to have a below median GPA and V10 offers. It's not impossible, but it is improbable. That improbability raises at the very least the question of how?

OP here (and author of other works, such as "that other post on this thread"): You've made me change my mind. I apologize for my tone. I see reason on both sides (EDIT: Why is "both sides" being capitalized?). I am sorry to derail this thread by stoking anger.

10 percentile for DPW and PW may be high but you realize there is a below 10 percentile or “minimum” figure unprovided that exists. Theoretically it can drop to my GPA or lower.

Also when a diversity candidate reaches out to a firm’s diversity & inclusion officer pre-OCI, things can happen.

GL all
Still wondering (and more on theme for this thread) when your PW interview was?
