I'm the person who asked the question and 2nd in the chain. I'm in the northeast too, so maybe my theory is wrong haha. I guess I'll find out when I hear back about OCIAnonymous User wrote:I was 3rd in this chain and also in the northeast.Anonymous User wrote:Not sure who that question is directed at, but I’m OP of this quote chain. I think you should be fine. I honestly wish I had applied to less of the firms that will be at my OCI.Anonymous User wrote:I chose not to apply to any IP firms via PLIP because there are limited bids and the same firms are coming to my school's OCI, which has unlimited bids. I thought I would stand out better against the non-IP crowd at my school so I used the limited PLIP bids for big general practice firms. I kind of regret this strategy now because my grades came out after PLIP bids were due and they weren't as good as I expected (still pretty good and from a T1), and therefore I'd like to get my resume looked at by these firms as many times as possible just in case. Did I shoot myself in the foot for Fish/Finnegan/Fitzpatrick/Knobbe, or am I probably still OK?

FWIW, I've withdrawn from all but two interviews. Hopefully that opens up some slots for others.

There is one firm with like 8 people listed as interviewers and I only have 2 that are on my interview so I'm guessing they are splitting upAnonymous User wrote:This is probably a stupid question, but if a firm has 2 interviewers but only one is listed at the top with your interview time and room, does that mean only that one interviewer will be in the room with you?

If you interview with someone who does prosecution, does that mean the firm is considering you for a prosecution position?
I’m noticing that the firm does not require patent bar eligibility on the app, and they office I’m interviewing with does a lot of litigation but I don’t want to go in and look like an idiot.

I already have a 2L SA lined up that will be tough to beat, so I don't want to interview for firms ranked below the one I already have an offer from. I'm thankful that I can be a bit choosy.Anonymous User wrote:Any particular reason you canceled? Did anyone get an preselect with Desmarais? They didn't give me an interview for the patent fair but instead emailed me inviting me to interview with them in their New York office. Are they just not coming anymore or what's going on?

Is everyone staying at the hotel that PLIP recommends? I reserved a room but I’m thinking about cancelling and getting an Airbnb. But then I get nervous about what ifs

I was preselected for Desmarais as well. I bet they had fewer interview slots than interviewable candidates. It's a good sign they invited you to their office, and definitely beats being an alternate at PLIP.

I wasn't able to get a room at their discount cause it was sold out, but I might be staying there anyway for a higher cost. I'm also trying to look around for something cheaper.Anonymous User wrote:Is everyone staying at the hotel that PLIP recommends? They should already say if you click on the firms on PIPER. I have one interviewer that doesn't say, but I'm guessing they just don't disclose it.Anonymous User wrote:Is there a date which interviewers will be released by?

As in the names of interviewers? Some are already released. You just got to click on the job title again and the names are in the top blue bar. More names will be released as we get closer to PLIP.Anonymous User wrote:Is there a date which interviewers will be released by?

I was dinged by Desmarais at PLIP but got an interview at my school. Have faith everyone! Dings may be strategic on the firms part.

I'm the one who asked if anyone else was waiting. Ugh it's killing me that it's still not posted. I wonder what is taking them so long. They had a very limited amount of science backgrounds they wanted, so I can't imagine they had an insane amount of applications to go throughAnonymous User wrote:still waiting on Brown Rudnick as well
