Can confirm, I'm associate here. You won't see a memo bc MLB does it via VM.

Can someone confirm that for firms that have raised, associates in the class of 2018 i.e individuals starting out this fall will have starting salaries of 190k?

I'm starting at KE this fall, and I just wanted to confirm because none of the firm memo's mention the class of 2018, they start at 2017. Thanks!

I had a similar question back during the 2016 raises (due to paranoia), but trust me...it's a dumb question. Why would they start incoming associates off at a lower scale than the rest of the entire firm?

They don't mention it because nobody in c/o 2018 works there...

I take your point, but Paul Weiss's memo mentions the class of 2018. They felt the need to reassure c/o 2018 even though none of them are working at the firm yet.

Still, of course class of 2018 is going to make 190k in a few months. It goes without saying.

The Covington thing is really odd. ATL (at least for now) has it listed on its scorecard, too. https://abovethelaw.com/2018/06/salary- ... ises-2018/

Well it’s 5 pm in California. For those of us waiting for stragglers to match, see you on Monday.

Thoughts on how a firm with no official hours requirement will implement the summer bonus? Have any firms without an hours cutoff instituted an annualized cutoff solely for purposes of the special bonus?

Looks like we may see a new scale soon. Will other firms match?

Are you referring to the Susman guy saying his firm might go above market? If so, I don’t think this moves the ball any. First, keep in mind that what Susman calls (and pays as) first years are all people with at least one previous clerkship. So they’re second years at the very least. So it’s not actually above market when you consider that CSM calls people first years based on years since graduation, not years at the firm. Second, Susman already paid what it calls first years above the 180 scale, and that didn’t move any other firms when Susman made that move.

just read it in incognito mode

anyway, this is just pure trolling by that anon, because the article is just about susman saying they'll probably exceed the scale (they were already at 190 prior to milbank/cravath raising to 190)

no regular firms are going to follow susman

Can confirm. But hours requirement for the bonus. Surprising wsgr is the first non-Quinn California firm to match.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
