It can be transactional, litigation, anything. Any practice.

You can go back and get an MBA and transition into a mid-level or senior business-side role depending on the type and quality of your previous experience (e.g. L&E -> MBA -> Director -> VP of HR is something I've seen). You could try to do compliance for a corporation. I'm not sure how well that pays, but considering that a lot of corporations have chief compliance officers there must be a considerable upside for high performers/the lucky. Just two ideas.

Probably depends on why you burned out. If it was long, unpredictable hours, then going in-house to a big company will likely (but is not guaranteed to) solve for that particular issue. If the burnout is alienation from your labor, then switching careers is probably the better option.

Is your question more of a preparatory hypothetical, or is are you starting to feel burned out and would like specific advice?
