Having troubling reconciling the fact that White & Case is a top 3 international arbitration firm nationally (Chambers), a top 3 firm in Miami generally, yet the firm appears to have no partners practicing IA in Miami.
The University of Miami has an International Arbitration LLM named after White & Case, but even students who have gone through this program (the lucky few) have ended up in their DC office.
I get that IA is concentrated in NYC and DC, but find this incongruous. Miami is billed as emerging in IA, and there is a small handful of practitioners, albeit mainly at satellites (Hogan, Jones Day) and boutiques (Reed Smith, Bryan Cave).
Is the take-away that IA is not taking off anytime soon in Miami / a recipe for below local market pay?

The takeaway is that White & Case does not have a large IA practice in Miami and that you probably shouldn't base employment decisions on the possibility of field growth 5+ years out.
