Can't really give you a ranking. It will depend on practice area and if you are shooting for a NOLA BigLaw firm that is regional (like Adams & Reese or Jones Walker) or one of the national BigLaw firms (like Proskauer Rose). Proskauer will pay more but has less spots. Try Chambers for practice area.
No one is going to know salaries for partners because it varies wildly partner by partner, even within the same firm. It is extremely unlikely you will make partner anyways so it's irrelevant.
For salaries for associates, look at http://www.nalp.org.

Proskauer is in a class of its own in NOLA, as it’s the only truly national firm and associates in NOLA work with partners around the country. Proskauer also pays 5-25K more than all the other elite firms in the city to start.
As far as the rest of the city’s firms go, the most well respected are likely Stone Pigman, Jones Walker, Liskow&Lewis, Barasso Usdin, and Adans&Reeas.

Jones Walker, Stone Pigman, Liskow & Lewis, Phelps Dunbar, Baker Donelson and Adams & Reese for large regional firms based in NOLA or with large NOLA offices. Barrasso Usdin and Fishman Haygood for commercial boutiques. Herman Herman & Katz and Gainsburgh (sp?) Benjamin for plaintiff-side firms.
Beyond that, look at the Louisiana lists for Benchmark Litigation and Chambers. Hope that helps.

I'm from Louisiana but I ended up in Texas due to my SO. Now we've separated and I'm yearning for home. The problem is that I do transactional and am not interested in litigation. It seems the city has very little corp work.
Any tips? I went to a non-southern T14 and am at one of the big Texas firms now. 2015 grad.

Very little corporate work in NOLA or LA in general. It is mostly done from Houston from my understanding.
Maybe try Kean Miller. Mid-law firm that does some transactional work, mostly oil and gas.

All of the firms mentioned in the anon post above do corporate except Barrasso Usdin, which is a pure lit boutique, and the plaintiffs’ firms. Again, check Chamber - Louisiana for your specialty. Certainly less active (and less profitable) market than Houston.

I know Phelps and Jones Walker have a transactional practice. Proskauer has attorneys that do ERISA transactional, and they have taken laterals that did not do ERISA (but did transactional) prior.
