Diversity Fellowship Compensation Question

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Dec 15, 2017 12:22 am

Greetings,

Please don't flame. I am asking an honest question.

I am writing to ask about a position lists that it offers "a [$X] academic scholarship and an opportunity to work as a summer associate with [X law group]...."

I have only substituted the words in brackets for amounts and the name of the firm.

Are they offering the academic scholarship as the total compensation for the diversity fellowship? Or, are they offering the associate weekly wage, plus the scholarship amount?

Please only answer if you have actually worked as a summer diversity fellow or have first hand knowlege.

My v20 firm is both. It's almost always both, in particular if its a v100 firm or any other firm with interns that it would normally pay. If its a small/local/midlaw etc., then its possible but unlikely.
