general question: if you didn't get a pre grades offer, how long did it take after sending your transcript to get either an offer (if you did a callback pre grades) or callback invitation?

This varies a ton. I sent my transcript on Jan 12, and I’ve had no real movement since then, even from the firm(s) I interviewed with over break.Anonymous User wrote:general question: if you didn't get a pre grades offer, how long did it take after sending your transcript to get either an offer (if you did a callback pre grades) or callback invitation?
On the other hand, there are plenty of people who got offers almost immediately after sending grades in.
EDIT: FWIW, my grades were top ~20% at a T20.

Anyone here shooting for Austin? Don’t see much talk/movement in this forum about that market.
Just applied within the last week because my partner’s work fellowship offered them a full time position in Austin. T6. No ties other than that^.

UT here. Grades came out on the 12th. Aside from pre-grade people, you're not too far behind the eight ball. Although I'm not too sure how ties would play in -- ATX does not take as many summers as HOU or DALAnonymous User wrote:Anyone here shooting for Austin? Austin has fewer positions so there's just less information floating around. I haven't heard much about Austin CBs, although admittedly most people I've talked to are going for Houston or Dallas. But if anyone will speak up, it might be within the next week or so.
FYI BB did their campus screeners (all offices I believe) last week.

Re: 2018 Texas 1L SA Thread
As someone who grew up in ATX, is now at a T10, and applied for 1L jobs, I can say it's tougher than the other big TX markets, but that's a compelling reason if I ever heard one. A couple big TX firms have Austin offices so it's not implausible

NRF has extended offers to UT students. V&E H and Dallas basically narrowed down candidates and given out offers.Anonymous User wrote:V&E H has extended at least one offer this week.Anonymous User wrote:any movement on Locke lord, NRF, V&E, BB, Bracewell, Akin (all Houston) this week?
Bracewell extended offers pre-grades to some UT students.

I'm beginning to see if you're not an Ivy, T-14 w/ ties, or UT, you're going to have a hard time

UT here. Haynes and Boone started interviewing this week for Dallas (I asked in my interview on the 25th). Baker Botts has at least done some callbacks for their Dallas office (did mine Wednesday the 24th) and will be doing offers over the next few weeks. Anyone have Baker Botts offers yet? What are your GPAs for those of you interviewing/ with offers?

I interviewed with BB Dallas on Jan. 8 and received an offer before I left the office. T20, ~3.5 GPA, IP + patent experience. I ended up declining to return to my previous firm, but overall BB was great.Anonymous User wrote:UT here.
