Anyone know anything about the Clark County (NV) clerk program? If you perform well, are you basically guaranteed a full-time ADA job? Are they ties-sensitive?

I don't have firsthand knowledge but based on what I've heard from other people you can be cut from any final round of any office. Take every interview round seriously.Anonymous User wrote:Can you get cut from the third round at Bronx?

We are notorious for interviewing and hiring later than everyone else (first acceptance letters going out in like May, I think). We are still understaffed and hiring people here and there. I really don't have any insight as to what batch of resumes they are taking them from or what they are looking for.encore1101 wrote:By the way, those of you applying to Suffolk County, NY -- Spota is not running for re-election this year, and so a new DA will be elected in November. Factor that in to your decisionmaking (although when I applied, Suffolk didn't schedule me for an interview until January).

I will second this , that you should take this round seriously, just as you would with the prior rounds.Anonymous User wrote:I don't have firsthand knowledge but based on what I've heard from other people you can be cut from any final round of any office. Don't be surprised if there are numerous (as many as 5) people present during the final round.

Just got offered a 2nd round from Brooklyn. Had 1st round exactly 4 weeks ago.

Is it unusual to get a 3rd round invite from the Bronx the same day as your 2nd round (like ~1 hour later)? I'm kinda worried they might have made a mistake.
I don't mean this to sound like a humble-brag. My interview went okay, but wasn't great by any means. I do have a pretty strong resume, but nothing special.

If you're out of state, it's their policy. I got offered the same thing but my understanding of the way it works is that I'll have my panel in the morning and if the panel likes me, I'll meet with the DA the same day. They told me they try to schedule the panel like that for folks coming in from out of state.

Re: District Attorney's Offices 2018
Sounds like we have our first wave of Bronx 3rd rounds coming up this next week. I know two people from my school with 3rd rounds on 10/24.
Does anyone know the success rate on these? I have numbers from a couple years ago that say there were 111 3rd rounds and 54 new ADAs. Obviously many people who get offers end up going somewhere else, or withdraw before a decision, so from that I'd guess it's a 70-80% offer rate.

Re: District Attorney's Offices 2018
I have to think a higher percentage of people who get early (October/November) 3rd-rounds end up getting offers than with later 3rd rounds (though maybe there is an uptick at the end as they fill out the class). Why give someone a 3rd round in October if they aren't pretty well sold on them? Just to clear them off the books or something?Anonymous User wrote:Sounds like we have our first wave of Bronx 3rd rounds coming up this next week. Miami SAO pays 40k to entry-level prosecutors. What's it like living there on that salary?

Would anyone happen to have email and or phone legal recruiting contacts for Bronx and Brooklyn? Applied 2 months ago and have not heard a thing.

Does anyone have insight regarding whether you're required to live in the borough where you work in NY?

Don’t believe there’s a requirement for any of the boroughs except for Staten Island, which requires residency within one of the 5 boroughs. The big 4 only require residency within the state if I’m not mistaken.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone have insight regarding whether you're required to live in the borough where you work in NY?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
