Interview time

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Jul 21, 2017 10:43 am

Working full time at a small firm over the summer. I applied for a position at a firm for the school year and a partner emailed me about meeting for coffee. Do I tell him that I'm working full time and ask if he can meet in the evening but that if he would prefer to meet in the morning to let me know what date and time would work best and I can meet then? Or do I just not mention the first part and set up a time myself. Thanks

I would find an excuse to leave for a few hours and meet him during the work day at some time. It would be a little strange to suggest meeting in the evening or to set a meeting time in the evening even though it would be more convenient for you.

Tell your boss you have an appointment and will be in late. Schedule coffee for 9 or so, be at work by 10 or 10:30. Stay a little late that night to catch up if you need to. A reasonable boss isn't going to be pissed you're a hour or two late because of an appointment as long as you let them know ahead of them.
