100% agreed, but Gibson has a 5H grade cutoff. Assuming 1 DS = 2 H, OP has 4 Hs. Gibson's lit is way too good to not try though. Rank Gibson high enough to get an interview and with a strong interview plus your 6+ year work experience, you may be able to break in. Good luck!Joscellin wrote:Gibson should be on a list targetting NY lit that also includes Cravath, DPW, etc.Anonymous User wrote:1DS/2H/7P
6+ years of work experience
Bidding exclusively in NY with a strong preference for litigation
Slightly above average interviewing skills
Any suggestion appreciated!

Kirkland NY SA here.QuentonCassidy wrote:Does anyone know anything about the Kirkland Boston office? I saw it on CSM and didn't think they had a Boston office. Checked their website and saw it is "starting in summer 2017." Any knowledge about it in particular or thoughts about offices that are just starting up in general?
Literally just opening. Kirkland's PE practice is growing really rapidly, and a lot of the big clients are in Boston (Bain comes to mind) so a few existing Kirkland partners are starting the Boston office. Honestly, a great opportunity -- will be a smaller office at first, lots of partner access, huge growth potential.

Re: HLS EIP 2017
There are two bid options for Kirkland NY - one is "Kirkland NY Corporate" with an estimated 20 class slots, and one is Kirkland NY with 80 slots. Does choosing the latter mean Kirkland litigation only, or does it mean summers can be undecided/rotating? I'm only interested in doing corporate, but given the much fewer slots in the corporate option, I'm wondering if I'm decreasing my chances by not bidding the general option.

Re: HLS EIP 2017
How do we go about emailing firms that we didn't get (but bid) to see if they have time to schedule us for an interview? Do we email them all of our documents (i.e.: unofficial transcript, resume, writing sample)?

Re: HLS EIP 2017
It can't possibly mean 80 lit slots; Kirkland NY is a majority corporate office. I'd guess the 80 slots are open to anyone, and the firm just added 20 corporate-only slots to make sure they're getting a majority corporate class overall.Anonymous User wrote:There are two bid options for Kirkland NY - one is "Kirkland NY Corporate" with an estimated 20 class slots, and one is Kirkland NY with 80 slots.
