I still haven't heard anything from Ropes (Boston) but don't have access to my physical mailbox. Has anybody gotten a Ropes rejection yet? Was it by snail mail or email?

Re: HLS EIP 2017
I went. Turns out there is a reception after the interviews (I had no idea), but that was the best part and I'd encourage you to ask candid questions of the young associates there (certainly less awkward than during your interview). Otherwise, the afternoon was pretty standard. But I'd make sure you have a good answer for why Kirkland compared to other DC firms. Some ideas are there really rigorous training of young associates program (I forget the name), their open market system (they call it "open assignment"), and the fact that it is not DC-based, so that the office is smaller (as is the summer class) so that you can really get to know everyone in the office.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone else going to Kirkland DC today? P.S. Don't fall in love with the office itself; they are moving locations in two years

Anyone else get dinged via snail mail from Williams & Connolly after the screening interview? If so, did your letter come from the interviewing attorney and specifically encourage you to re-apply for full-time employment after graduation? [Not trying to humblebrag (I got rejected!), just trying to figure out if that portion of the letter was boilerplate or if they actually meant it.]

Re: HLS EIP 2017
Does anyone know if there's a limit in how many offers we can have open at a time, and if so, whether there are further guidelines online? This is really weird, but I've been waiting on 5 firms (radio silence after CBs) and today while I was on a plane I got voicemails from four of them (!) telling me to call them back. I have one offer, and I remember something about a limit, so I want to make sure I do things correctly if I call them back later.

Re: HLS EIP 2017
NALP Guidelines say 5. If you go over, you have a week to get back down. But for the sake of your fellow applicants, get back down as soon as you can. At the same time, if you need the week, you need the week.Anonymous User wrote:OCS says 5Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know if there's a limit in how many offers we can have open at a time, and if so, whether there are further guidelines online? Aww, thank you to everyone for your nice comments. I continue to be amazed at what a lovely bunch of kids go to HLS. I was just venting the frustration I imagine a lot of us were/are feeling, and was touched by the support in this thread and how great all of my classmates have been to each other through this process. I hope everyone comes out with a result that makes them super happy.Anonymous User wrote:Calzone Eater, you're my hero.

Not HLS, but mine did not have that part. It just said good luck on whatever you decide to do.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone else get dinged via snail mail from Williams & Connolly after the screening interview? Any word from Latham Chicago? I got Kirkland and Winston Chicago offers within a couple days of the interview. I interviewed with Latham a few days ago and haven't heard a peep.

Re: HLS EIP 2017
There's nothing wrong with calling all 5, having 6 total offers, and then narrowing it down. I don't think anyone needs more than 3 outstanding offers at the same time though.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know if there's a limit in how many offers we can have open at a time, and if so, whether there are further guidelines online?
