Half the Hs and more than double the callbacks. This process has definitely shown that grades don't mean a whole lot for EIP. I think its just a combination of strategic bidding (which is where the grades matter) and interviewing well.

I think it's a combination of an extremely aggressive bid list, a resume that screams "I'm doing this to make 30K for a summer before going off to clerk and doing public interest," and being a mediocre interviewer. Still, it sucks.

Congrats on the shiny Hs at least :-)

5 CBs is definitely enough to get a good job and not too many that you'll get exhausted. I have fewer Hs and fewer CBs. Rejected from Debeviose this morning also.

This is the flipside of the coin of what I was saying.

Am I the only one who would prefer generalized rejection emails to these weird personalized ones? It almost feels worse to have my interviewer tell me that "despite your impressive credentials, I was unable to recommend you for a callback interview due to limited space" (verbatim quote). Come on, just reject me already. Don't make it personally insulting.

I agree. Being told that a committee carefully considered me before deciding I'm unworthy is so much worse IMO.

Lol, what you are describing is a generic/generalized rejection.

Fair, but getting it straight from the interviewer (once with weird italics on ~impressive credentials~) seems a bit much...

Yes, yes, yes! So much this!

The WORST was in the Spring Interview Program on campus for 1L summer job. I interviewed with Lowenstein (firm in NJ) on campus. I then got an email saying the following: they would not be inviting me in for further interviews. This was "particularly disappointing given [my] strong resume and how much [Mr. So and So] enjoyed meeting with [me]." Then the kicker: "Should your grades improve, we invite you to apply for next summer."

Thanks for taking the time to tell me that my grades suck. :x

3L here. I had 3 callbacks last year and one out of the three specifically requested an undergraduate transcript. So, it can happen.

(Oddly, that was the one that turned into an offer!)

and...how soon after callbacks do firms make offers? I interviewed at a firm whose hiring committee meets daily, and no word (Friday callback). does this mean I'm either in a "hold" pile or a "reject" pile?
Does anywhere actually snail mail ding? That just seems like an excessive form of torture...

Anyone know how soon we should start to hear about offers from callback interviews on Monday?

3L here. I got an email rejection this morning from a firm I did a screener with last year that never got back to me. I'm pretty sure it was a mistake (it wasn't the office I interviewed with).
