Surprised that this didn't exist already, so figured that I would start one up. ITT you can discuss where and when you had Pre-OCI interviews, the timelines, how you got them, etc.

Can confirm callbacks and offers at Simpson and Skadden in NY. Both firms and many other NY firms are interested in getting top candidates ahead of OCI. Just reach out to recruiters or other contacts you've made networking if you're at a T14 and top quartile of the class at least, preferably top 10%ish. Oh, and turnaround from CB to offer has been an average of like 4-5 business days.

What about MM to screener/CB?

My experience is 2-4 days between each step. Obviously you'll be asked for a resume and I'm assuming if you don't have the grades they are looking for you won't hear back or whatever.
Mass mailing is dumb though. If you don't have top of class grades and don't have an "in" just wait until OCI.

Both Weil SV & NYC Screeners & Callbacks

Also, I don't quite get the point of listing "Offers" separately - isn't the implication that if a firm is doing callbacks, they're fully willing to hand out offers too?

The firm I interviewed with said that not hearing until after my school's OCI was a possibility (tho i heard back 2 days later).

Don't know where "nervous" factored into it. I simply have a million things I'd rather be doing during summer in NYC than firing off a generic email to the HR coordinator at every firm in the city. Snagged callbacks at a couple places at the top of my list then just chilled. Other people's experiences may be different.

This is the worst possible approach. A lot of places last year filled/ almost completely filled their classes before oci for nyc, DC, and la offices. This year offers have gone out even earlier than last year. You can ignore my advice, but at your own peril.

Can someone please name all these places that filled up pre-OCI? I don't understand why people are being so coy about this supposedly well-publicized fact, and I have yet to hear of vast swaths of students not getting callbacks at OCI.

Are people travelling to different cities for these interviews, or are you generally only interviewing in the city you are summering? If you are travelling, how are you getting time off to do this?

Also, how extensively is this being done by HYS students? Are the HYS OCIs at as much risk as the other T13 OCIs?

The gist of these comments is "MM is stupid because I already have a CB or offer." Thanks so much for your valuable insight, but for the unwashed masses, targeting firms who have clearly started recruiting pre-OCI may have some value yet.

Yea this person keeps parroting out this information yet conveniently doesn't name a single place that supposedly did that.

Whats the turn around between emailing DPW and them getting back with a callback invitation? I emailed over a week ago and haven't heard anything one way or the other. Have they responded to other people with "apply at OCI" or just silence?

Thanks!

I got an email response pretty quickly (same day) that said we follow your school's guidelines of not interviewing before OCI, see you at OCI, and come to our reception.
