Re: 2017 Pre-OCI Interviews
I have a CB on Monday and trying to figure out how to go about telling my supervisor. Do summer employers generally care about people taking off a few hours for a CB? Or should I make up some excuse?
If it matters, I am working for free.

Re: 2017 Pre-OCI Interviews
I have a CB next week and am also working for free this summer. I just told my supervisor the exact situation and she definitely didn't care at all. I think her exact quote was "don't you dare come to work that day, just take the whole day off and get ready for that instead." Obviously I can't speak for all employers, but as long as you've got a decent relationship with your supervisor by this point I can't imagine them caring about an unpaid intern taking a few hours for a CB interview.Anonymous User wrote:I have a CB on Monday and trying to figure out how to go about telling my supervisor. Saw that the first post had been updated to include DPW under Offers and was just wondering if that was for this week's CBs...Anonymous User wrote:What kind of update? Had a callback recently and they said I'd hear "soon".Anonymous User wrote:Updates on DPW (NY)?

Trying to read tea leaves. Sent in apps to alums at 2 firms. One reported back that recruiting said to try and get an interview at OCI (on it but was trying to beat the rush), other emailed to say that {name] from recruiting would be in touch. Neither seems particularly promising?

Prob better to send apps to recruiting but ask alums (unless you've networked with them and have a relationship already) for simple informational calls or coffee chats if you're in market, might help you skip the screener stageAnonymous User wrote:Trying to read tea leaves. I actually started with this intention but during the calls both asked me if I wanted to send them my materials for them to forward.Anonymous User wrote:Prob better to send apps to recruiting but ask alums (unless you've networked with them and have a relationship already) for simple informational calls or coffee chats if you're in market, might help you skip the screener stageAnonymous User wrote:Trying to read tea leaves. Do you have any advice or info on how to go about getting one of these? They're my top choice, coming from a T14 around top 10%. Heard they don't do much pre-interviewing, so just curious what angle, if any, you worked.Anonymous User wrote:Got a screener for Skadden DC

Re: 2017 Pre-OCI Interviews
Not.to get your hopes up too much, but when I was told that I would hear from recruiting, it meant that recruiting would schedule the screener. Attorneys don't schedule the screeners themselves, that's up to recruiting to do and then follow up with you. So don't lose hope just yet.Anonymous User wrote:Trying to read tea leaves.
