Are there other NYU people out there who have secured a bunch of pre-EIW spots in NY (without some sort of special connection)? I'm fortunate to be in a good situation, not worried about striking out at EIW, but wondering whether these firms are being forthright with me and are actually telling all NYU students the same thing or whether my stats/resume just don't quite have the "wow" factor to get pre-EIW slots.
NYU here. Have a V5 offer, so can say not all of them "follow NYU's guidelines". But you said you have some interviews already, so you know that already. I imagine some firms are legit waiting, but a lot aren't. I'm around top 10%, but I have no idea if that had anything to do with them moving quick.
Did you give your transcript to them in advance of the screener?

Also, do we know what the top 10% cutoff for NYU is, more or less?

Received an invitation to a Rising 2L Party and an "evening of interviews" from Latham NYC. Unsure if a callback?

OP
I read on here that top 10% at NYU ~3.67 after 1L. Poster who said that got info from OCS, I believe.
Congrats on the offer. Yeah, definitely not all following the guidelines, but for both of the firms where I have gotten callbacks I had an "in" of come sort (not just a totally cold email). Understand if you don't want to reveal, but if you don't mind, was it Skadden (only V5 I know of that has given offers at this point)?

Do you happen to know any of the specifics with this? (CB through mass mail or 1L SA, etc.)

Adding to the questions ... Anybody who interviewed with Debevoise get an offer/ding? They told me they are putting decisions off until closer to OCI, but wondering whether there are some "top" candidates who did get offers. Thanks!

Did they also tell you email the afternoon before the CB for interviewer's information? I think it's too late and wondering if can know it earlier.

From what I've seen, this is standard practice. Some firms don't even tell you who you'll be meeting with beforehand.
