Since things are winding down I guess it's time to start posting rough results from screeners to get a sense of what's up. Here are mine so far:

I see that Milbank and APKS both still have 19 (IIRC the default number) slots left for the NYC and I can't imagine people still haven't signed up for those two firms by now, did no one get selected for those??

Well on the MCGC homepage it lists all the firms that responded and it doesn't mention APKS or Milbank. Though it also says that "pending" is the default and not what I see listed as "not invited" so it's unclear.

Bad idea unless you already have an offer.

Is it worth it to go to MCGC/SEMW if you only have one or two interviews? Also, any idea how these work? Do we need to register at the event or do we just show up at the interview room at a given time?

You only really need to show up at the hotel room at your interview time. There is no "formal" registration, but I think there is a check-in, likely to track people who skip or miss their interview so alternates can be given the opportunity to interview. Whether it's worth it to go or not depends on your circumstances and goals.

Don't take my word for it on the procedure though--there should be an email of some sort telling you what to do and where to be.

It depends on your resources.

It's pretty hard to justify a flight to DC/NYC/Bay Area for one twenty minute interview that likely won't lead to anything (the firm is probably interviewing hundreds of other candidates through OCI).

On the other hand, it's difficult to give up the opportunity because it only takes one screener to turn into a callback to turn into an offer.

Personally, I would only attend a program if I were selected for two or more interviews. For example, last year I applied to the Bay Area program and was only selected for one interview. I contacted the firm telling them I'd be unable to travel to the program and if they would be willing to interview me over the phone, which they were.

Also, there's no need to "register." There's usually a check-in station at the hotel/venue lobby.

Thanks. I am wondering because I will also be going to loyola patent fair and they have a pretty stringent registration process. The emails that I have been getting from SEMW/MCGC haven't been describing anything like that.

My first interview for SEMW is at 12pm. Do I need to register at 9am or do I show up at 12pm for my interview? Was wondering about that because there isa morning flight arriving at 10am, so I wouldn't need to get a hotel in that case.

Also, thanks for that bit of info, acr.

Just received update on Texas Walk-Around from CCD: preselect lists have yet to be returned to CCD and will be released as soon thereafter as possible.
