Should I bother to participate in OCI?
I was accepted to a T1 state school from a T4 school. I looked on the OCI list of my new school and noticed that pretty much all the firms participating require a class rank of 25% or better. My class rank at my old school was better than 25%, but again, it was from my old school which is a T4.
Should I bother to apply when my "qualifying class rank" is actually from a different school? Would employers just toss my app?
Thanks.

Yes, you should participate in OCI if you're interested in being hired by a private firm.

This question is basically "should I do a week of work for a chance at a $180k a year job" and the answer is "wtf of course you should." I mean what else are you doing with that time?

If they all throw away your app, you'll basically be no worse off than if you self-select out by not applying. Since there's a decent chance they won't all throw away your app, but not applying definitely takes you out of the running, applying is a no-brainer. (You'll need all your app materials soon enough anyway, and otherwise the front end work is pretty trivial.)

If nothing else comes of it you should do it to get better at interviews while you still have two years left to find a post-bar job.

Obviously participate, just don't get your hopes up too high and mass mail like hell.
