So is it safe to assume that if we did not receive a top 25 email we are no longer under consideration? I was a bit confused by the past few posts, and have not received a rejection email...

I did not receive such an email from DOT, but I followed up with them to learn where I stand and was told to check back in a few weeks. I also heard from another candidate that at least one offer was already extended. I have no way of confirming whether or not this information is accurate.

I remember the Honors Attorney I met with mentioned that DOT was still extending offers to people into that following summer. We all could be similarly situated, who knows. If anyone has received an offer it would be great if you could please inform the rest of us.

I received an offer by phone yesterday. I have a week to respond to the offer, and I believe that is the standard time frame in which the other candidates to whom offers were made must respond as well. Best of luck in the job search everyone!

Any wild speculation on whether the whole first wave went out, and we will only get more movement if some people reject offers? The honors attorney who apparently said there were offers into the summer makes it seem like maybe they trickle out offers?

I am a former DOT honors attorney. For my class, the first wave of offers were extended the week of Thanksgiving. At least one person turned it down for a clerkship, and that slot was filled in a second wave in January. So it is possible to get an offer even if you didn’t get one last week. Good luck to everyone, and try not to worry too much.
