Part time job for additional income

Post by omar1 » Wed May 24, 2017 1:56 pm

Hi all,

I work full time for a small law firm- 90% of time 9-5. The downside is the pay. I am looking for something to do part time, a few hours a week, or on the weekends. Any suggestions? Where should I look, other than craigslist etc.? Thanks!

As someone who works two jobs including at a small firm (I'm also a football coach for a lower level team but we travel) I'd recommend this. Having a second job you can turn off like Uber is critical, because both gigs won't be understanding of each other when you have important dates at same time.

Are you allowed to do your own legal work? Not under your firm's name?

Yes I am. I thought of that, but would have to advertise, find some office space etc. which means spending money with an unknown result...

It is not a big money earner, but I enjoyed teaching classes in the evenings/weekends. Mostly in adult ed programs, but that branched out to a few other odds and ends.

Perhaps per diem work? Or coaching some moot court teams?
