Is this the norm? Should I be doing this? I know that writing thank you emails after interviews has been debated a lot. Honestly, I did them last year but I think they were useless.
This sounds very strange. I would definitely ask another more senior associate. Maybe this first year was messing with you?
Sounded very strange to me too! The first year associate actually did this last year when she was an SA, so I know she is not messing with me. But I will definitely ask other senior associates because I am not comfortable with this myself.

Seems like a first-year just trying to be helpful by telling you what they think would be nice based off her own one-off experience. Probably pointless, as you had a whole summer to make an impression.

Accepted my offer on Friday. I should be penning thank you emails to the associates I bonded with over the summer but watching family guy instead.

You don't need to send thank you notes. Enjoy family guy.

Last week here - offers don't come for a couple weeks after that though.

Totally not going to be stressed in the meantime.

Not at all.

When applying to other stuff, do you put that you got an offer on your resume? Like "Summer Associate (Permanent Offer Extended)" or something? I just heard this but it seems really weird to me. Do people do this? Would it just be for firm applications or for PI/Gov too?

This is what you should do for other firms. Cannot opine for PI/Gov. But it's a natural question to ask: "Saw you summered there--did you get an offer?"

Yup, makes sense. I assumed it would come up in interviews, but didn't really think about adding it to the resume.

Took the LSAT cold as a joke, went to a 4th tier a few years later, top 1%, transferred to a T20, multiple SA offers, top 10% at T20, post-SA offer.

Just your average big law story right?

@hikko what say you?
