Re: "Five Prestige Levels of Attorneys and Law Firms"
This guy, man.
I signed up for his damn e-mail list early in my law school career. Every week he blows out some BS like this.
"5 Reasons You Will Regret Going to Law School for the Rest of Your Life"
"Ten Things That Make Me Super Awesome and You, Not So Much"
Problem is, he is kind of right. He feels to me like one of those bro-dudes that tell you the way to get chicks is to drive a slick car, pump weights at the gym, and tan a lot. He likes to talk about how he was the hardest working dude and then he decided it sucked and decided to be a recruiter. He has one on how all lawyers are basically killing themselves by working too much. Then, another article, you can't make it unless you work 24/7. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
And that photo? is that really him or is it a stock photo from a JC Penney catalog?

is it a pre-req for a recruiter position to write articles that resemble chain e-mails from 2000?

I'm happy that the preftigious legal gods at SKADDEN would deign to give TTT 6 plebes like us a chance to prove ourselves because we happen to be in the same city as their HQ.Students from Columbia often end up in “5” firms due to the school’s proximity to New York City as a place where most of the “5” law firms are.

How would one rebut the article? When you pass a homeless guy on the street ranting about how the government is controlling our brains with microwaves, do you hope that someone will provide an actual rebuttal?JackofLit wrote:I'd like to read an actual rebuttal.

Gibson is a solid 5, but Skadden, Latham, Simpson are lower 5s? Does that comport with anyone's OCI experience at all? The school distinctions are equally arbitrary. Feels USNewsy in all respects.

That's unfair to USNWR.cron1834 wrote:Gibson is a solid 5, but Skadden, Latham, Simpson are lower 5s? Does that comport with anyone's OCI experience at all? The school distinctions are equally arbitrary. Feels USNewsy in all respects.
