2L Summer - Shit Law v Government

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Mar 27, 2017 3:24 pm

I'm median at a Texas T2. Still sending out emails/applying to jobs on simplicity but as of now it seems like my options are either working as an unpaid intern at the DA's office or a $15/hr clerk at a solo shit law firm that practices in an area I have no interest in. What should I do?

Tough call, but I'd be inclined towards the DA's office, though I might ask around and see if they often hire interns (assuming you have an interest in being a prosecutor). A small firm could be fine, but if you have no interest in the practice area, it doesn't seem terribly promising. Not being paid is unfortunate, but it's a small amount compared to a lifelong career.

I'll second DAs office but keep applying, it's still very possible something better could come up before a May/June start date.

Definitely DAs office, but also agree you should keep applying - many employers identify their summer needs in April
